It's interesting that March of the Penguins has inspired multiple machinima. While I obviously had heard about the documentary, I didn't think I'd see anyone in WoW recreating it. I was obviously wrong. First, we had Wowcrendor with March of the Plainstriders. But now, we have another parody interpretation of the ecological tableau with March of the Icecrown Penguins by Sharddragon.
I enjoyed the way Sharddragon framed his interviews and comedy bits, and I like the wide variety of reactions to the Icecrown penguins. This is a pretty fun video, even if it probably could have stood to be a little shorter. It's funny, but I'm not sure if the laughs carry all the way through the entire length. That being said, March of the Icecrown Penguins is a pretty good send-up of the original movie, and I hope Sharddragon keeps creating other work.
Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an e-mail at machinima AT wow DOT com.
It really depends that the whole "ninja (kung fu) vs pirate" thing still being magical kind of funny joke in order to get you through the vid. It doesn't work.
However, I have to say I did like that he at least knew how to stick to his character's voice and how to give separate character a different personality with each voice. Keep practicing and it'll take future vids farther than just silly jokes can.
How in the WORLD can someone mispronounce this? It's not some made up word for WoW, IT'S AN ACTUAL WORD. How could you be old enough to play WoW but not have heard the word scourge used before?

It's "skerj". Not "scorej" And definitely not "skowerj". NPCs say it enough in-game that you'd think people would stop pronouncing this wrong.
Sorry. Just a pet peeve of mine.

It's understandable if you play WoW with the sound off, which some people do.
Scour (Skowr) = scrub, as with steel wool
Scourge (skurj) = "a cause of affliction or calamity"
Oddly enough, another definition of "scourge" is "to punish, chastise, or criticize severely."
