For Gnomeregan! Welcome to the first meeting of B.L.O.G.

Peenkerella "Peenk" Sparklebolt presides over our first meeting via the magic of guild chat.
Hear ye! Hear ye! Or whatever. I don't know how to start these things. Ahem. Anyway. Welcome to B.L.O.G.! I'm glad you all could join us. As you know, we have created this guild specifically to train for Operation: Gnomeregan. The High Tinker himself authorized his representative to authorize us to form this training army. All races are invited to join, as long as they are willing to work for the cause of the gnome exiles.
/sigh
I'm not going to pretend. We all came here hoping to help and were told we weren't ready to join the official army. So we are training together in the hopes of being used in the coming offensive. Our personal goals right now should be to train our skills and work for people willing to help equip our army. Later, we will have organized drills to learn to fight together as a team.
Our agenda for this, our first meeting, is to go around and introduce ourselves. I'll begin:
My name is Peenkerella Sparklebolt, but you can call me Peenk. I come from an extended family of mages, with a couple of rebel warlocks. I was born without the ability to use more than the most basic magic, however. This is fine with me -- I love knives -- but my family pities me. So I am here, not only to get my home back, but also to prove that I need no sympathy. Though I am magic-challenged, I have inherited my family's knowledge of herbs and the creation of potions. So I will help supply our army in that way. After all, no matter the situation, "There's a pot for that!"One thing before we go around the room: when I was filling out the paperwork to officially form our guild, I hurriedly wrote down the acronym without deciding what it stood for. I am torn between Bitter Legion for Operation: Gnomeregan and Beleagured League Of Gnomes. For next week, be thinking of which one you like.
Ok, you there. Please tell us your story.
Please join us by telling us your player's backstory in the comments. Why have you joined the army? What are your skills? If you'd like some suggestions in creating your character, All the World's a Stage is a great resource and this guest post by Anna is a must-read.

What do we do if we're in the EU?
*Sadface*

How does being in the EU prevent you from participating in the roleplay going on in the comments?
AltairAntares May 1st 2010 6:08PM
Got enough angry emails over horde bias, eh? :P
Robin Torres May 1st 2010 6:27PM
Actually, we were all sitting around in It came from the Blog and decided we wanted to make an RP guild. Answering the call to arms for Operation: Gnomeregan came up as a suggestion and were done. The idea just carried us away after that.
I honestly only remember about 3 angry emails regarding Horde bias in the years I've worked here. Sure there have been quite a few comments, but very, very few emails. We did get one very recently, though. Was that you?

And now for the no EU love! :(

Jamie, this guild is for everybody who can comment on the site, no matter their location. We'll be roleplaying here every week or more often.

RPJ is complaining about some thing or the other every week, I do not think anyone regards him as anything more than a comic relief by now.

Horde got an event guild, we got a text game and the 'joy' of helping little freaks.

Shoo, troll. Go away.
Anyone have any repellent handy?

Beleagured League Of Gnomes, for sure.
Since coming to Azeroth, Woflie One (pronounced Oh-nay, say "one" and she hits you) has adored the gnomes' work - she feels that the abiding faith in the Light that the Draenei have is the same as the Gnomes have in their ability to understand via tinkering. She also is sympathetic to people forced to flee the only home they ever knew, as she was born on Draenor and was part of the group that broke the Exodar away. She even tried taking up Gnomish engineering, though she found she lacked the aptitude for that. Not withstanding, she knows the metal of the Gnomes' home is just Earth, and that earth cries for help. She'll stand with the Gnomes, and help retake Gnomergon for the Alliance and for the Gnomish peoples.

I've thought of a Gnome Mage named Barotul. He thinks he's using voodoo like trolls, but in reality is just a very confused Mage. His real name is Shelbo, but it didn't sound voodooish enough for him, so he changed it.

"All races are invited to join..."
*ahem*
Somehow I think they'd be upset if I showed up there pledging support. Dunno...just a feeling...
robintorres May 1st 2010 6:40PM
Eep! An orc! GUARDS!!
Eddy May 1st 2010 7:01PM
Sadly, I feel this too. And once I was even allowed in the gates... but that was years ago.
I would think the Gnomes would welcome engineers of any birth into their efforts, but their people and mine have no love of each other. Perhaps this is for the best.
Tokkar May 1st 2010 8:40PM
Don't make me bring in the others - you saw what we did to Stormwind! Well, they were attacking The Crossroads and all, so they had it coming, and really the gnomes haven't done anything in particular, but there was this one time in Razor Hill with this gnome warrior...
