As always, be mindful of scams and phishing attempts throughout the alpha and beta of Cataclysm. If you don't know a friend or family member that works for Blizzard Entertainment, you should probably avoid any sort of alpha invitation that shows up in your inbox. You're not invited, regardless of what that email might say.

Are you ****ing serious???? Its been 6 months and now Blizzard chooses to release the alpha? Didnt they say that their not gonna release the alpha and go straight to beta?

nowhere does it say alpha (from the blue) they simply say friends and family, its wow.com that labled it as alpha, as far as we know it is beta, and will be a very swift FaF, we just dont know.

uggg really? id die for another sc2 beta key, i have sooo many friends that would die to play with me on it.
But yeah, im hoping for a fast FaF...and a beta key =)

"considering" not doing the friends and family. It would still have an alpha, it's part of the development cycle(basically a huge debug test while the game is still being put together, beta is a sort of polishing phase), the only variable was if it would be with people who will leak us info or not. Evidently, they decided to go with leaky.
