Holy Shock going baseline seems like a huge mistake...I've said it before and I'm saying it again, why do pallys need another way to heal themselves? Also...it's instant, and on a very short cooldown. Ret pallys are already healing themselves with AoW procs, Divine Storm (not much, but it helps), Judgement of Light, and even the occasional Lay on Hands and those are just the instant heals! They're also fully capable of doing decent healing with Flash of Light and Holy Light! Do they really need another heal? I don't think so. I fully expect a nerf to AoW. The two spells present the same gameplay decision and are simply redundant.\This is not going to help the "facerolling" perception. Now you don't even have to pause your murderous rampage for 1.5 seconds to heal yourself, you just heal as you go.

I agree to a point. Blizzard has already stated that they want ret paladins to be more offensive rather than defensive. As a paladin myself i agree. . .and even so i dont agree that it should heal because once again i can understand other classes going WTF over it. Now as a ret pally it still can be baseline while specced in ret to increase its damage but i believe it should be specced into deep holy where it is now to allow it to also heal imo. Thus solving the issue where rets still get the big extra damage but holy has it as a heal. Good for different sides of the same coin.
