Around Azeroth: En fuego
For many of us old-school raiders, Ragnaros was our first big raiding accomplishment, a massive fight the likes of which we'd never seen. The sense of awe we felt the first time we stood against the Fire Lord is well represented in this picture submitted by Canamo of Onyxia. Of course, that sense of awe dissipated pretty quickly after 10 runs of no usable loot for our class, but it was still fun while it lasted. Thanks for the screenshot, and remember to keep sending in your old-world screenshots for Nostalgia Week!
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as emailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use Alt Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val'kyr on mounts or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

Dude! That guy's HOT!!!
Okay, all right, that was lame.
You know...I've never gone through Molten Core.
Ever.
DAMMIT!!!
Of course, the best guild name I've ever seen: "Molten Core Swim Team"

If you're not an achievement whore, you should go through MC with 5-10 people exactly once, and then you'll remember it fondly, if steamrolly. If you hate yourself and want the waterlord rep, you'll have to grind the entrance trash for 6 hours and then full clear the place for 4-6 months. And then you'll hate it like old-school players hated Molten Chore.
I remember raiding it on my warlock back in the day. Only did it for 3 months (12 times) and got about 3 pieces of gear. Plus the fights were...shadow bolt spam. It is a little weird to remember not having boss addons, or gear score, or recount. If someone turned on their combat log sync, all 40 players would start lagging and not know why.

While I remember a lot of our attacks on Ragnaros being as small as that measly dot on the screen, it was hysterical to see him get attacked by an Insect Swarm that scaled to his size... Those things were twice as big as the players!

Yeah, that litle wrath ball looks tiny now, but when that sucker hits it'll be big enough to swallow a house.

I will never forget the first time I was there when we took down Rags. It was indescribably epic, and there hasn't been a boss encounter since that has matched that feeling. I guess the first time is always the most memorable!

I have to agree with Uncaringbear - downing Ragnaros after so many wipes was truly epic. We moved onto BWL and downed first boss faily easily. Then Vaelastrasz taught us humility.
Even when Nefarian was on farm, we could still wipe quite easily to Vael.
But Ragnaros had the most screaming on Vent :)

I've been playing wow for about 2 years now and so I never did get to do Molten Core as a 40 man raid but last weekend I did it for the first time with my main and a whole bunch of other level 80s. We went through it all pretty easy and even though this boss is an old boss I was still blown away by how cool he looked!
