Completely and totally agree. If Blizzard wants us to go into Battlegrounds for this, it should be something much more simple like simply winning, instead of things that you have to fight people for, and not just people on the opposing faction! I gave up on the Violet Proto-drake last year when Childrens Week came around, and I only did the quests for the minipets, and again this year. Other achieves have been gotten accidentally (like forgetting that my orphan was out while I hearthed) and I've no will or intent to do the entire holiday, at all, ever.
And this is coming from someone who's a mount collector and teased as an achievement monger and who seriously considered quitting the game when the Achievement system came out and mounts became spells....and I lost all of them in the big 'WHOOPS, we didn't think that would tax the server that much, lol' debacle, giving up on a mount that should have been gotten while doing something I really otherwise enjoy is a kick in the tail. To be forced into doing the -one- thing in this game that I loathe the most, along with a few thousand other people who don't want to do it, hoping beyond hope that you manage to get into a BG where people are cooperating (and forget it if you didn't do it earlier this week, now it's time for the griefers) and you arent going to get someone doing the various things listed above....yeah, I hate this single achievement with the passion of a thousand burning suns. Trying to foster a polite playbase and the spirit of 'teamwork' with this achievement is never, ever going to happen.
