It's not just the difficulty of School of Hard Knocks -- and, IMHO, it's a beeyatch -- it's the fact that it screws up "normal" game mechanics for the entire week.
I can see the logic of requiring players to PvP for some achievements, as it exposes players who might never enter a BG to the experience, and they may even end up liking it. But seriously, there is NO fun in assaulting objectives to the detriment of the group for your own "selfish" ends. On rare occasions, a large enough group of players on both sides will respect each others' achievement hunters and back off or perform actions (like dropping the flag) that help, but 9 times out of 10 there are a hardcore group of PvP-ers who LOVE killing the "noobs" and berating them in chat.
This achievement's only gain in the game is to give griefers another crappy way to do what they love by screwing the rest of us.
The time spent in the BGs is NOT a good exposure to them, and doesn't end up being fun for anyone. If anything, this achievement makes PvE players NEVER want to enter a BG again.
And, from a strictly humanitarian point of view, why the HECK am i taking an orphan into a war zone anyway? That's just sick and mean. The "touring" quests all have some limited meaning, but exposing a small child to danger and death? Yeah, that encourages proper behaviour. NOT.
