Twin Peaks? Seriously? It had the same problem of randomly added cruft (after the first season) because it seemed a 'neat' twist to the creator, making an ultimately unresolvable mess. It's conceivable Lynch could've pulled it off, but I doubt it. The show's big strength was it's characters, not the story. And David Duchovny in drag.As for the continual story popularizing thing, I put Babylon 5 there. Yes, Twin Peaks was older, but by the time B5 ended season-long arcs were all over the place, while they were relatively rare beforehand. To my mind giving that credit to Twin Peaks is like giving it to Commander Cody.
