Around Azeroth: Borderlands
Wait, didn't Nostalgia Week end yesterday? True, but we have a bonus image for today, because I'm too busy answering 911 calls to think up something clever to write a fair and just person who wishes to give all submitters their due. Spongecake of <Paranoid> on EU Sylvanas writes, "I happened to take this screenshot while on the border between the two regions of Darkshore and Ashenvale, mainly because I was amazed at how pretty the game still looks, even after all these years! Exploring through these old zones again makes me realize that Blizzard has had a wonderful talent for worldcrafting all along."
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as emailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use Alt Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val'kyr on mounts or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

Okay, seriously - this looks like it should be the cover print on a paperback fantasy novel. No joking here, no sarcasm, nothing but admiration of beauty...
...and then that ugly Night Elf had to come along and ruin everything. :-)

True, So true.
Could be worse though.. A male Belf, That would spoil the shot completly. Infact.. Id probly throw up.

You are a dispatcher? More power to you. My mom did it for several years, and boy howdy! what a job.

I always think that the game looks best between zones, in those moments where the revolting overbearing hues haven't had time to kick in. Places like Ashenvale and Feralas look far prettier without the purple/green smog-like atmosphere.

Funny how the majority of the players' idea about a game looking pretty is just a lens flare or lots of bloom.

Yep...

I really believe the dynamic shadows also did a lot to help this shot. still don't know why the ground texture is so hyper reflective all the time either, but I'd say it also contributed.

At least it beats half the pictures on myspace where people take a regular boring picture, turn on the black and white, then call it art. It takes some skill to find a good shot of some lens flare and bloom.

Ashenvale is one of my favorite zones. It's so beautiful.
I was in the Azshara the other day and took a second to look around. The shore line dotted with the temple ruins and everything is just breathtaking (minus the Naga eyesores).

very beautiful.
