My name is Nora Maber, and I'm from Stormwind. I guess since we're all still pretty new here, I can go ahead and introduce myself. I hope you don't mind my candidness.
A week ago, I packed all of my belongings in my satchel, waved goodbye to my family, and boarded the tram. I watched the last glimmer of Stormwind fade as we surged forward, unsure of what lay before me.
I left home for this?
I had just begun my training. My mother is a mage, and at a young age I proved that I had potential to follow in her footsteps--remind me to tell you that story sometime. I was going to start in Stormwind and go all the way to Dalaran one day.
But the call came to retake Gnomeregan. My dad couldn't leave the tavern, and my mom has her own responsibilities in the city, so I informed my parents that I wanted to help with the effort. Their first response was dubious at best, but eventually they agreed to let me come.
And here I am, fit enough to fight but relegated to training. "More precision, more strategy," they chirped at me crisply. "And please be careful with that little explosion thing, I'm pretty sure you singed some eyebrows."
They offered to let me go home and complete my training there, but I can't do that. I don't want to tuck tail and run like the mutt that tromps around the Park. Besides, my family is important, and I do not want to face anyone and tell them I was deemed unfit to help.
So I've stayed here to train, and it's going well. I'm a bit sick of snow already, and now the mage trainer here wants me to perfect some frost attacks. I really need to find some warmer clothes.
Oh, and if I see another boar, I might have to go back to singeing eyebrows.
