all that time spent on making a great looking UI only to have it shadowed by using the default casting bar.

Not only is it quite ugly in comparison, but using a castbar mod gives you better information (like latency, so you can start casting a spell just in time for the server to recognize it and not waste that brief moment of "another action is in progress" from latency).
