I don't recall this problem and I used to be an avid nUI user, but I haven't used nUI in a month or so. (I decided I wanted a little more control and there were a couple things I didn't like, although I've always liked it's out of the box use).

"/nui movers" allows you to see and move the various parts that can be moved. I've always moved some of the things (roll and tooltips especially).

If that doesn't help, the forums on wowinterface for the addon are fairly well up to date and should get you a prompt response.
