WoW Moviewatch: Epics

It's hard to do a deep and meaningful review of something like Epics, but I do want to point out a few particularly notable pieces. First, RavenSylphe's eye for music video continues to be strong. I'd be interested in seeing the machinimator take a crack at a different movie style, but I think her continually high quality is definitely making a mark. CryKoda and RedX perform this music with a clear sense of irony and comedy, but it seems like some folks still took the song to be completely serious. I'm just not quite sure what to make of that, so I'd encourage everyone to keep an open mind when checking out Epics.

Hmm it seems like he tried to make the lyrics match up too hard. The bridge with the BE rap was the only thing that really redeemed that video.

I love how he sings trying to make sure everyone hears the fact that he actually has balls and that he can't sing as high as the original.

Not nearly as funny, by a country mile, as the ninja looter video. I found it profoundly unfunny and had to stop watching. Too each his own.

Michael, I don't think anyone is necessarily taking the ironic video and its singing as serious. It's just that even with the mind fully open to irony, the experience of watching and listening to it is so bad that I can't find my laughter anywhere. Good parody work is actually listenable in its own right, in some way... this is just ear poison!

This made me smile. I liked the horrible voice, yes at first it was hard to listen to, but by the end the 'refrain' had me hooked. I listened to it a couple more times.

yeah I smiled or laughed the whole time I watched. whoever doesn't see the humor in it should really take a break from wow. cuz you take it to seriously and prolly don't take life serious enough.
Anyways, it was hillarious. I've seen so many ppl act like that in raids at times. wanting to buy a piece that was won by another. Then they get mad when that person won't sell them the piece.
Just hillarious.

Yea, I understand the joke, but the singing is still too annoying to tolerate. There is something called "taking it too far".
