Advice
For Foxlight from Chase Christian, The Light and How to Swing It
So, here's the talent spec I would recommend. Getting interrupted while healing is going to be a huge concern for the low-level healer, as tanks tend to be pretty green and won't always keep aggro on all of the mobs. As a healer, you need to be confident in your ability to heal while under fire -- your enemies will grant you no quarter to heal from 40 yards away in a dress. Healing Focus will allow you to keep your group alive even as you tank loose adds while the tank desperately tries to remember what key he bound Taunt to.
For your first two glyphs, I recommend Judgement and Blessing of Wisdom. Judgement works with Seals of the Pure to boost your damage, while Blessing of Wisdom makes it easier for you to keep yourself buffed at all times. Until you get Consecration and Exorcism at level 20, Judgements will be the core of your DPS, and you should try to keep a Judgement effect on any boss or elite mob that your party is attacking. Be careful to monitor your mana though, as spells like Consecration and Exorcism will drain your fledgling mana pool pretty quickly. Flash of Light will be your primary heal, due to Holy Light's slow cast time and huge mana cost. While the starter paladin playstyle doesn't leave you with many buttons to press, you'll be picking up your various "Hand of X" spells between 10-20, which you'll want to familiarize yourself with. Try to find any opportunity to use one of these abilities, as they form up the core of the holy paladin toolbox at level 80.
P.S. I see that ring you're wearing -- NO MORE SPIRIT!
Stories
Anne Stickney, as Annephora, the troll warrior
When I was a little girl, Momma tell me, "Joo stop makin faces like dat! Gonna get stuck dat way!" Now de trainers want me to make faces like dat ta be all intimidatin' ta whateva happens ta need killin'. I tink Momma maybe had it wrong wit her advice. I been roamin round Stonetalon Peak, too many goblins hackin up de trees accordin to de tauren in de area. Peak be right -- ting so tall, me legs ache by de time I get to de top, den I gotta run all de way back down again! Up down, up down, wish dese people make up dere mind. Also went to dis place call Shadowfang Keep on de east side o' de world -- lots o' dogs dere.I hate dogs. I like beatin' 'em in de head though, so dat work out fo me!
Gets lonesome out 'ere though. I check de mailbox when I stop in de towns, never any mail fo' me. Would be nice ta see messages from people, me tink. I write back! Tell stories, send tings dat I gather long de way. Could be fun! ...well, be less lonesome anyway. Anyone wantin ta say hi, send me mail, I send tings back. Promise!
Now if only I could find a pair o'pants dat didn't make me look like I oughta be dancin in a bar wit fruity lookin paladins. Pink squishy tings, ugh! Dey smell like dey grow up in flower fields. 'alf de time can't tell which ones are men. Tink it's de ones dat don't wear polish on dere 'ands. Mebbe.
Gregg Reece, as Yakkowakko, the orc warlock
I decided to pull a quick 1-10 marathon on Monday night. For the first five levels, I did the usual orc wanderings around Valley of Trials. Since they reduced mana costs on low-level spells, I didn't have much reason at all to stop and rest during any of the leveling. After I hit level five, I decided to head over to Eversong Woods. After chatting a bit with my fellow guildmates, we chose tailoring and enchanting for my warlock. I've never actually leveled tailoring very far in the past, so it will be new for me. At level 7, I met up with some fellow ICftB members, the priest Spawnofhell and mage Allunamoon, who were level 8, and decided to quest together for a while. Spawn was healing us while Alluna and I burned through a truckload of murlocs. We finished out a lot of the quests in the zone by the time I reached level 10. They were a great help, and I'd like to thank them here in the post. Also, thanks to everyone else in the guild for being fun and neighborly. Next time, I'll be working on my level 10 demon summoning quest.
Robin Torres, as Robinemia, the undead mage
Warning: The employers in Stonetalon Mountains enjoy sending their employees to the far reaches of the area and back again. Repeatedly. I do not recommend them to anyone else looking for work.
Fox Van Allen, as Foxlight, the blood elf paladin
Dear Diary,The big city! Watch out, Silvermoon: Foxlight has arrived!
Well, I arrived last night. It was pretty late when I got in, so I just crashed on a bench just inside the city. They have benches outside the city, but I dunno -- you just feel more well rested when you cross the city line.
My first order of business in Silvermoon was to find a few side jobs. Being a paladin is okay, but the money I steal from the people I mercilessly slaughter just won't cut it if I'm going to get my own place here. I was a bit lost as to my career path until a giant mob of 586 people came up to me and demanded I go into the mining and jewelcutting professions. Apparently, there's high demand in Silvermoon for shirtless blood elf miners. Who knew?
My plan to get an apartment here has hit a bit of a snag, though, even with the new job. I can't afford the rent, even on Murder Row. Something about things getting gentrified -- all the old buildings here are being converted into lofts. Needless to say, I have to search for cheaper digs in another town. I heard good things about the Barrens (i.e., it's cheap), so I'm catching a zeppelin first thing in the morning.
Foxlight, level 10
Dear Diary,
The Barrens. Kalimdor. I'm underwhelmed.
The problems began the day I got here. In Orgrimmar, the goblins had totally lost my luggage. There was a squashed rabbit carcass in that four-slot bag -- I don't even know how I'll replace it. Every time I try to file an insurance claim, though, they just reply, "Time is money, friend!" Scammers, that's what they are.
Oh, and can we talk about my poor youthful, glowing skin? Do you know how dusty it is out here? When I got out from my brief dip in the Southfury River, I was totally caked with dirt! When I chose to follow the path of the holy light as a paladin, I figured I'd at least get a nice tan out of it. This whole place is just so ... primitive. Did you know they don't even have shirtless kungaloosh tiki bars out here? Seriously! I don't know what I'm going to do on Thursday nights now.
I figured I'd explore the big city here, Ratchet. I got here okay by swimming, but I feel trapped. Every time I walk towards the mainland, I get mauled by high-level lions. It's totes embarrassing to have to run back to Ratchet screaming like a little girl to get a goblin guard to kill it for me.
I picked up a few quests that were available, but I'm not ready to handle them yet. Those pirates kicked my ass. Whatever. I'm a lover, not a fighter.
Remind me again ... Why was I doomed to spend my time here?

OMG, WoW.com lag.. Sorry.
Murmel May 12th 2010 7:24PM
How do you get your character to pose like that on the armory? Also, I love the story of Foxlight. Very amusing and very in-character :)
Dreamstorm May 12th 2010 8:05PM
/dance, then freeze it at the right time.
Tokkar May 12th 2010 10:27PM
You have to log on to your character in the armory, then you can edit it using all of the animations your character has in-game. You can advance on a "sort of" frame-by-frame until you get juuuuuust the right pose, freeze it, save it, voila!

Where is Christian Belt and his Warlock!
KJP May 12th 2010 11:24PM
My eyewitness report on Mr. Belt's discomfiture: He spent about equal amounts of time answering tells and actually playing. He got to level 5 and topped off the evening by throwing himself from the top of Falthrien Academy. That was about it. I already forgot his imp's name.
Nobag May 13th 2010 12:51AM
Don't forget the duels we did right outside the beginner's zone. I, the hunter that gave him his duel acheivement because I forgot I had to buy arrows... never played anything but a mage and a priest /facepalm
I was also the same hunter that told him we'd jump off the tower at the same time and watched as he fell to his doom.

I fluked into getting a Staff Of Jordan in the DK starter area, I was thinking of sending it to him as an incentive to play :D Being a lock isn't all bad, and my first 80 was a mage.

"I hate dogs. I like beatin' 'em in de head though, so dat work out fo me!"
Oh my god, you're evil. Maybe Annephora should expect some hate mail! /growl
"It's totes embarrassing"
That's eerily in character Fox...
WaterRouge May 12th 2010 9:59PM
Annephora is evil? That is so totes retar!
Anne Stickney May 12th 2010 10:30PM
Annephora says: "Dere be no dogs in Sen'jin! Jus raptors, and crabs on de shore. No pets! Got a kitty in dese mines to de east tho, it nice and fluffy. I call it Ta'zinni after friend 'o my family, 'e go up north, haven't heard from him much. Nobody has. Tink he must be busy doin good tings up there, hey? But dogs! Dey chase Ta'zinni up and down and all over, and nobody kill my kitty!
Dumb dogs."
Ryan May 12th 2010 10:41PM
Love the name Greg.
Sharvis May 12th 2010 11:55PM
@WaterRouge - LMAO. Ahhh, I'm so easily amused. :) And I couldn't help myself, I'm a big dog lover so it makes me sad to think of a dog getting beaten.
@Anne - What mine is Annephora talking about? I'm curious. Also, I was confused about the whole Ta'zinni thing until I searched Wowhead and reread what was said. That's a very nice touch, I've had relatives give their pets the same name as mine. Though, whether it's by coincidence or not, I do not know.
Tokkar May 13th 2010 12:06AM
If she's in Sunrock Retreat, then it has to be Windshear Mine (http://www.wowwiki.com/Windshear_Mine).
adyuaa May 13th 2010 2:13AM
A kitty in mines to the east? Might be http://www.wowhead.com/item=8490 from the Deadmines.
Ricohardt May 13th 2010 6:25AM
