There are similarities to White Dwarf. But WD has ads, they are just for GW related items (Store openings, GW books, etc.) so it doesn't feel like it does. The first issue did not have any of that. (There was no full page ad saying "Buy new non-combat pets on our website", for example). But more or less its the same thing.
However, the warcraft Magazine is REALLY well done visually and has a nice tactile feel to it. It has a better binding then the WD mag, and a bit stronger paper, and the layout is very easy on the eyes.
WD is nice, it really is, and for a monthly it's very well done. But the wow mag is a bit better visually. Content wise I won't make an opinion. I like it, but I like the content in WD too. The down side of course is that wow mag is quarterly.
