Around Azeroth: Sliding Delta
Submitter Liala writes, "Hi, Around Azerothers! Given the sad trials endured by our Gulf Coast friends lately, I found my draenei hunter in a spot that reminded me only too nostalgically of the (sadly battered) beauty of the region. The thought of their unexpected changes presaged the coming changes to our own Azeroth pretty neatly. I like to think that given time and a few cosmic breaks, we can get back to a Delta coast that looks just a bit less ravaged. But for the time being, there's always Feralas."
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as emailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use Alt Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val'kyr on mounts or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

Way to ruin a nice write-up and beautiful picture with your sophomoric lust...over a cartoon character. Really mature, guys.

Meh. It's an internet meme. I find humor in the silliest things.
My apologies. =D

And sadly, it isn't anything recently that has been destroying the delta.
It began with the construction of the levees that contain the Mississippi River. While these prevent the river from flooding the nearby houses, it also increases the flow rate of the river also (makes it faster). Because of the increased speed, the fine particulates get shot out further into the Gulf instead of settling in the delta as was usual.
The recent hurricanes and the recent oil spill is the proverbial cyanide-laden icing on the radioactive cake.

Those are Coldtouch Phantom Wraps, dropped from Baroness Anastari in Stratholme:

Still bothers me how capes look on Draenei females.

I like the silhouette of what vaguely appears to be an AT-ST walker from Star Wars in the background

O.o ...
Night elf architecture is actually Star Wars machinery!
Those furbolgs? Actually wookies.
Winterspring? It's really just Hoth.
Fandral Staghelm? He's just George Lucas.

hah! You're right, it does look a bit like an AT-AT! Prepare to fire the tow cable!

Lacha is modeling the Dustfall Robe, sadly no longer available (since about 3.0, I think); however, I do believe it's the same model as the Couldtouch Phantom Wraps, available from fine Baroness retailers throughout Stratholme.
