Cataclysm screenshot of the day
The latest Cataclysm screenshot from Blizzard is shown above, featuring yet another look at the Abyssal Maw dungeon. I wish I had a jellyfish lamp. Naga get all the cool light fixtures.

wonderful, its the underbog.

My first thought was Steamvaults. If you walk down the entrance stairs and look back up...well, it's essentially that screenshot.

Lamest screenshot of the day yet.
Edge May 14th 2010 8:09PM
Well, i wouldn't say it so harshly, but all of these underwater screen shots are a bit redundant...

This isn't even new. Back when screenshots were first released, this one was one, at least the area. It was also one of the concept art pieces.

Dear god, man, do you see the detail in that rock?! The rock. Has. Detail.

I think Blizz loves Abyssal Maw A LOT. Half the screenies of the day have been of the place. I'm kinda sick of it, or at least ready to see more stuff. Show us Gilneas City or Twilight Highlands or something.

Yeah, if you look at the screenshots, 5 out of 16 have been of Vashj'ir, or it's consituents. Another three are random dark woods- Gilnean style, and random images, mostly about Goblins.
It's not that I don't love the screenshots, cause I do, but the constant blue and grey does get a little monotonous.

Ugh, what's with all these rather "lacking" screenshots? I think we all just want the beta to be fair.

Oh cool a door. Well, I guess it's more of an archway. I wonder what this could mean for Cataclysm are doors still in use? Have doors ever been in use on Azeroth?
Iirdan May 14th 2010 8:25PM
The door isn't what's important. It's those stairs! I mean, we're underwater, why not just swim up? Mysteries to be discovered...
omedon666 May 14th 2010 8:29PM
Clearly we need a series of articles detailing the impact of this door and stairs on each class and spec!
I'm sorry, I couldn't resist... Still love y'all ;)

I dunno guys, I dig it. It's quite obviously underwater, which from an artistic perspective, isn't really all that easy to pull off. =)
RogueJedi86 May 14th 2010 8:52PM
Seems pretty easy to me. Just make the walls and doors curvy shaped, then add a lot of light blue coloring everywhere. Instant underwater-looking area, even if you place it on the surface of the moon.

Blog post for every "screenshot of the day" image?

Two-plus pages of comments say "Go."

I think it's very pretty, and I can't wait to leave untidy corpses all over their nice clean floors.
Tokkar May 14th 2010 9:17PM
"Hey, where do these stairs go?"
"They go up."

I'm looking forward to killing many gaga here
