I guess I find it interesting that you don't prioritize AH gear first, and badge gear second. For 1000g, you can get every BOE blue out there, gemmed and enchanted. For 2000g you can get all that plus the 2 piece ilvl 200 BS set, gemmed and enchanted. This alone is enough to do fine with heroics. For 1-2k more you can get the ilvl245 bracers, and make a start on your pre-raid set. From there, its just a matter of running dungeons. I'd like to know if anyone actually prioritizes rep pieces. Sure if you have the rep, great; but at the end, they are just blues (exalted takes a while to grind). I have only used a couple of rep pieces as upgrades to my fresh 80.

he probably didn't put it there because he's assuming you are the first 80. After playing alliance for a few toons I created a horde alt. he didn't have the benefit of having a cash cow main. he did everything the hard way. and by the time he got to 80 he had about 3k gold and many items listed in the AH for some more. did the argent tournament dailies every day. which, btw, you might also want to list the argent tournament rep rewards as well for any new 80.its hard getting that first epic flying cost out of the way. i wouldn't assume any fresh lonely 80s have gold to buy stuff in the AH. his suggestions for rep gear are spot on. while you're getting emblems and more gold, you'll automatically be getting rep. and the rep rewards are the best thing until you can get either some more gold or emblem gear.

This far into the expansion, you're better off using PvP Gear as starter gear.

yea you should totally spend 1 - 2k g on the AH on gear that you would replace in 1 day. That's a good way to spend your money. In all seriousness, just keep queueing the new heroics (icc and toc) and just freeload there. Save your gold for gems and enchants and just collect your welfare epics. Its annoying as heck when I get someone in greens join in my frost run but its really fun when I did it on my new 80. You could seriously get geared enough for ICC 10 in 1 week.

Yeah i did assume people had some coin. I'm kinda amazed that so many do not have much money. I am gold capped and I don't spend more than a few hours a week making money. Anyway, think of it this way. If you get the stuff from the AH or what not, enchant it, then you just replace it with a badge piece. If you are dps, assume 10 badges per hour. You can get the 5 T9 for 210 badges. So thats 4 hours per piece. When you start to do the math you realize that not giving an hour to work on specs, rotations, and a good set of BOEs is just silly. I guess others would rather be carried their whole lives.
