Hello. This might sound weird, but, my Tankadin is close to dinging 80, and i would really like to have a guide like this one. Much Appreciated if you do a Prot guide after this Holy guide.Thanks.Noz.

Hey Noz, Chase only focuses on the Holy Paladin side of things.Michael Grey did a few guides for lvling a paladin, not sure how much it covered lvl80 though.

Honestly, for a fresh tank @ 80, you've made it harder for yourself if you haven't already been tanking, or at least building a tank set.Run a couple of reg dungeons, or just queue up random heroics, as DPS - and ask the tank if you can roll on tank gear. This will help you get a decent set ASAP. Most people tanking heroics now are already geared enough to not need any loot. But aside from that, the most important thing to do is get yourself defence capped. 535 defence for crit immune in heroics, 540 for raid bosses.

Starting as a fresh tank is pretty painful due to the defense cap issue. You can get the BS tanking set, it will get you defense capped (barely). I would do a week of runs as dps or even heals and built up enough badges for some badge tank pieces, those are far better than the blue BS stuff.

The problem is, ive tried to read loot list and with all the changes, i dont know whats best with all the ToC5 and ICC5 gear. Nevertheless the BS gear, and everything, please Michael Grey then, do a Tankadin guide

Some excellent resources for the new tank are Maintankadin.com and Tankspot.com. The latter not only has good resources for tanks, but also does excellent raid encounter movies.Anyhow, I found this guide at tankspot.com:http://www.tankspot.com/showthread.php?66111-Tankertots-Gear-your-Tank-in-LFDIt's discussed from the perspective of a Warrior tank, but the gear is pretty universal at that level.

Oh, let me just point you back to their consolidated list of tank-gearing guides:http://www.tankspot.com/showthread.php?47048-Beginner-Gear-Guides!I used the Pre-Naxx gearing guide when I first turned 80; it's a different game now, but much of that is still good, at least before you use badge gear.
