yea you should totally spend 1 - 2k g on the AH on gear that you would replace in 1 day. That's a good way to spend your money.

In all seriousness, just keep queueing the new heroics (icc and toc) and just freeload there. Save your gold for gems and enchants and just collect your welfare epics. Its annoying as heck when I get someone in greens join in my frost run but its really fun when I did it on my new 80. You could seriously get geared enough for ICC 10 in 1 week.
