Female worgen preview
Have you, like our own Mikhail Saccovich, been dying to see what the new female worgen models are going to look like? Die no more! The Escapist has you covered, my friends, in detail. Copious screenshots of the new lady worgen models in cloth, leather, mail and plate gear to give you a general idea of what they'll look like when you roll one. The article emphasizes that these are works in progress, but I dig them. I really like how sinuous they are. My worgen rogue just might be a lady after all.

Maerec May 19th 2010 12:52PM
They need a tail, imo.
vexis58 May 19th 2010 6:38PM
Yes they do. Since most of the poses in those screenshots look like reskinned female draenei anyway, not having a tail is a strange oversight.
Though I guess the male worgen don't have tails either, but somehow the females seem a bit more out of place without them. I was hoping they would have tails =(

FINALLY.
I'm reserving final judgment for when I can see the finished product but so far it looks like Blizz has hit that near perfect balance point between "pretty" and "rip yo mother ****in' face off" that I had hoped they'd hit.
The snarls are a nice touch.
Sargenus May 19th 2010 10:52PM
This is the 2nd time Blizzard has managed to do this. First was with the Female Vrkul. -nod-

If I wasn't going to race change to a Worgen back when the link showed their sword and board animations, I sure as heck am going to now.

The faces are what I was looking for in this image. They don't look bad, but let's see what they look like when putting hair to face.
And I do love some of the hair styles.

Bet the tauren population drops drastically, even with them getting paladins.
Transit May 19th 2010 1:11PM
Huh? Why?
I play a lot of taurens, and i am not switching factions for this. I would think that the Dwarves, Goats, and Night Elf populations may go down a bit. But moving from Horde to alliance (And visa versa) is a big deal, you leave guilds and friends behind, etc.. And quite frankly while the models are quite nice, I don't really see the appeal that would make me switch factions for them.
And secondly, if you play a female Tauren, I am not quite sure how many people are playing them because of their "sexy" look.
The models DO look nice though, Blizzard did a great job with them.
Ata May 19th 2010 1:18PM
Its not so much the 'sexy' look as it's the closest thing to an anthropomorphic player race in the game. I love my tauren, though I dont play him enough, but I'm 'fringe' enough in my friends and internet culture knowledge to know of several large 'furry' guilds that are currently Horde and almost exclusively filled with Tauren with a few Orcs and Trolls scattered in that were allowed in more because they're 'friends of friends' than anything. Several of them are already talking about a mass exodus of characters over to Alliance side, switching races, and some have already moved in order to build up a presence there and will race change once it's available.
It may not seem like a lot, but with Horde already lower pop, it will likely be noticeable on some servers, and through things like wowcensus. I've no problem with this at all, and Im not of the 'lolfurries' group of haters, just knowing the ones that I do? This is the thing they've been waiting for. Canine anthro's are much, much more popular than bovine or any other animal out there.
