Yes, this is exactly what I used it for. I could care less about any of the features of AVR and AVR-E (which is a distinction that neither the blue poster nor Fox Van Allen made as they are two completely different addons made by two different people), the only thing I used it for was as a /range that helped me see if I was getting too close to someone during certain fights. It's much easier to see a white hula hoop around me while I'm tanking Prince Keleseth, getting the purple balls that spawn, and dodging fire balls, than to constantly look at my /range 12 list and make sure it's always empty.
