Remote auction house beta test expanded

Blizzard's community managers have just announced that the beta testing phase of the Remote Auction House is no longer exclusive to the Whirlwind battlegroup and has been expanded to all US realms. This includes both the mobile app for the iPhone as well as the web-based auction house found on the Armory.

I think it's great that they're allowing basically read-only access without charge, which is still useful.

Re-listing expired auctions from the mailbox is kinda cool. It seems to start with the previous price (unverified), and you can consolidate stacks from separate mail items.
I thought that being restricted to just my main was going to be a deal breaker, but after putting both bank alts in my Top 5, it's just a matter of quickly switching from the character dropdown menu. (Gold silhouette on a red background, in the top right corner)

That and being able to list from you bank as well!
Doesn't work for guild banks though, from what I can see...

There's no "usable" button.
In-game, every single time I go to the AH, the first thing I search for is any "usable" pets or mounts, meaning, any that I don't have yet. And any of my alts looking for gear are going to click this button every time as well.
If they can't be bothered to include such a basic part of the regular AH interface, they don't deserve one red cent for this piece of crap.

Hm interesting, I have never thought of using it for pets/mounts. Granted I VERY RARELY go to the AH on main(s). I've used that button before for leveling alts/gear, but even then sometimes not so much if I'm planning ahead a couple levels and want to look for good deals on rare (blue) gear.

I use that button for pets and recipes every day when i first log on and use the AH. I learnt to love it when i was going for the last cooking recipe achievement and ones i could use would only turn up on the ah every couple of weeks. Saves a lot of time looking through each one every time.

It seems - TO ME - like a core component, which they chose to blow off. Yes, I will call them on something like that. Nobody's required to agree.

A sentence stating the problem. A paragraph stating why it matters to me. And a sentence stating my opinion.
I'm sorry you feel that way, and I "grasp Beta" just fine. It's been through alpha, it's been through "closed" or "stage 1" beta, now it's in "open" or "stage 2" beta. In a very short amount of time, we already have two other people replying who grasp and use that button, one saying they "learnt to love it." That being the case, I find it incredibly unlikely it hasn't come up, and still they haven't done anthing about it.
What I don't "grasp" is the need for two of you to make personal attacks. Prefering to just say "you don't get it" rather than explaining what you think someone "doesn't get" it what sounds a lot more trollish to me.

@Grovinofdarkhour When your initial post referred to the "beta" software as a "piece of crap" you immediately gave me (and possibly others) the impression that you are "one of those" kinds of beta testers that do not test what is already implemented, but instead bitch about what isn't there yet.
You opened yourself up to attack. Perhaps just say "wow, it would be nice if it had the usable items button. Perhaps I'll do something constructive like email them about it, instead of flame on like a troll on a forum."

I sincerely appreciate the comparatively constructive nature of your criticism.
I like that I was able to relist a couple of my auctions direct from my mailbox.
I do not like that what has been implemented so far does not meet what I consider the basic criteria of "auction house" as 3 years of using the actual Auction House so far defines the term.

I use the "useable" thing all the time too! I use it for recipes in Tailoring and Cooking because there are a few I still need.
I use it for pets and mounts like you as well. :) Great catch.

It only seems to work for characters that show up on the armory. I don't see myself using this much if I can't use it with my level 1 bank alt.

I just used up my 25 daily Beta transactions between 2 of my bank toons, which are levels 1 and 2.
If you find your way to your character list in the armory, you can add some toons as "preferred", and you can view the auctions etc of those, even if you can't view the armory page.

No idea where the bug report form is, but there doesn't seem to be a way to switch characters... I'm stuck on an alt I never play :/.
