WRUP: The answer is always 42 edition
Among this weekend's distractions from WoW are recent releases Red Dead Redemption and Alan Wake, and although not new, the browser-based Echo Bazaar has stolen some of our souls away to ... well, wherever in Fallen London it is that they keep souls. There's probably a lost warehouse of souls somewhere in game that I hope to find eventually. But some of us, still, are spending an hour here and there in Azeroth.
Though this week's edition of What Are You Playing didn't come with a bonus question, some of the staff did come up with bonus answers:
Now, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Alliance and Horde, it's your turn. Let us know what you're playing this weekend in the comments!
Though this week's edition of What Are You Playing didn't come with a bonus question, some of the staff did come up with bonus answers:
- Gregg My bonus answer is, as always, 42.
- Mat There was no bonus question, but my answer to any question is probably "cherry."
- Rich My bonus answer is my new favorite show: Dhani Tackles the Globe. Combines travel, culture, food, and sport, plus the host Dhani Jones is very entertaining.
- Zach My bonus answer to the question is, "I solve them all."
- Adam Holisky (@adamholisky): Having just completed Loremaster of Eastern Kingdom, I'll work on Loremaster of Kalimdor. I'll probably do something equally painful while working on old world quests, like watch episodes of Judge Judy over and over.
- Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey): HM ICC25. Got my rusted proto, got my white hawkstrider, got my twilight drake, so now I'm down to farming the ZG tiger and that silly binding off of Garr for Thunderfury. ...although I would like a black drake at some point too. Hmm...
- Amy Schley (@wowlawbringer): Leveling up the resto shaman through the RDF. I want to give a big shoutout to my RDF buddies from last night -- Tayora, Otta, and Onyxia for four manning Mauradon at 42-44. Also, the daystar might come out this weekend, so I might get some yard work done.
- Basil Berntsen (@outdps): I'll be trying to recruit for a brand new guild! <Bucket List>, on Drenden-US Alliance needs more of everyone! Send Euripides or Darkbrew a tell in game, or apply at our website.
- Chase Christian (@madsushi): I have a party planned for the Lost finale, and I'm getting everything in order for my big vacation in June. Will hopefully be able to topple Sindragosa heroic tonight!
- Christian Belt (@ihatewarlocks): I'll be sequestering myself in my home for a marathon Red Dead Redemption session, broken only by a 2-and-a-half hour block of Lost-finale-watching on Sunday night.
- Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb): My Druid's healing set is shaping up very nicely, and I can just about start spending triumph badges on feral gear. I'll probably do some extra dungeon running this weekend to start that up, if I can. Also, my death knight needs a Black War Ram to finish collecting all 5 PvP faction mounts, so I'll do some battlegrounds and Wintergrasp to get that done.
- Elizabeth Harper (@faience): I'll be trying to find time to catch up with Robin and the Choose My Adventure gang since I seem to keep missing my regular playtime. Also spreading the love that is creepy browser-based Echo Bazaar game and catching my weekly dose of Doctor Who.
- Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives): Watching my boyfriend play Red Dead Redemption, going to see MacGruber and celebrating EMS Week with my coworkers at a Durham Bulls game Saturday night.
- Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen): (1) Spend four hours banging my head up against LK hard mode. (2) Enjoy some shirtless blood elf antics with the ICftB crew on the US-Zangarmarsh server. Oh, and (3) finishing my taxes. The government doesn't mind if you're, like, a month late with that stuff, amirite?
- Gregg Reece: I'm pondering doing some hard leveling on an opposite-faction paladin this weekend so I can play in all of the pre-Cataclysm festivities on both sides. My bonus answer is, as always, 42.
- Joe Perez (@Lodurzj): Purchased Red Dead Redemption and and Alan Wake, so my weekend will be spent with my girlfriend playing those. 10-man ICC man and some How I Met Your mother marathoning! Good, quiet weekend.
- Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra): Packed weekend. After dealing with Blizzard billing, I can finally play again (PayPal error...). Also need to do a full re-install of Steam, as I cannot play any of my games. All in all, I am a grumpy cow.
- Lisa Poisso (@emused): I'll be "dating" a potential realm with a lowbie character, as I consider a transfer and a whole new playstyle. Interesting times ...
- Matt Low (@matticus): It is a long weekend for us Canadians. Taking a break from the in game world and heading down to Seattle for a few days.
- Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo): Crazy full weekend. Lots to do. Should I buy Red Dead Redemption? I love wild west stuff.... There was no bonus question, but my answer to any question is probably "cherry."
- Rich Maloy (@stoneybaby): the usual this weekend: gf, raiding, video review. Wish I could say I had more exciting plans, but I'll probably improvise something on Sunday, like some day drinking in a beer garden. My bonus answer is my new favorite show: Dhani Tackles the Globe. Combines travel, culture, food, and sport, plus the host Dhani Jones is very entertaining.
- Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel): I saw somebody playing this wonderfully creepy browser game called Fallen London and now I'm hooked. I'll also be doing some RP in the B.L.O.G. on Peenk and STO gets one last weekend to hook me before I cancel it. My bonus answer is Nutella. Duh.
- Tyler Caraway (@murmursofadrid): I just transferred servers and factions so it's back to square one with alts. I'm so used to have alts to do everything for me and now I have nothing. My entire weekend will be spent leveling up my new paladin as fast as I possibly can.
- Zach Yonzon (@Battlemasters): the awesome folks at Blizzard customer support pulled through for me, allowing me to apply my original beta key to the Mac version of the game. I'm late to the party, but I'll be zerging my way through the universe. Literally. I love those cute little aliens. My bonus answer to the question is, "I solve them all."
Now, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Alliance and Horde, it's your turn. Let us know what you're playing this weekend in the comments!

42? That's my gearscore. It's always 42, for some odd reason.
I have some boxes to sort out, in my parent's basement. Those boxes have been there for a few years, and they're moving soon, so.... i have to get them thrown/sorted out.
And play some WoW on my little alts. Do some BBQ....

Fool! Don't you know the answer on all questions was, is and will always be 27
Nayr May 22nd 2010 3:56PM
27 is a nice number. 3^3 is very cool. Just like 4^4=256, and 5*5, but I can't be bothered to do mental maths.
I'm more a prime number fan though. In fact, my TV's volume is always set to a prime number. There's an unfortunate gap between 13 and 17, as well as between 23 and 29. Makes watching TV slightly more stimulating.
Nioki May 22nd 2010 4:13PM
@Nayr: Not to mention, prime numbers go well with encryption. :D
Thyago May 22nd 2010 8:23PM
Sum your 27 with his 42 and there you get my answer...!
Oh, wait, that's what you meant?
I'm so lame... =D
Kadamon May 22nd 2010 2:18PM
Now if only we could figure out the blasted question.
foust117 May 22nd 2010 2:23PM
There's some truth to 42 being the answer. Apparently it's the key to unlocking the core systems of Destiny.

NERD ALERT!

I am doing some crockpot bbq! No boling. Yay! And watching some tv with some wow thrown in. And it's my anniversary and my wife is sleeping the day away. Third shift sucks the romance out of everything.
Task May 22nd 2010 2:38PM
@ Robin Torres
Yes, Nutella is awesome, but the real answer is and always will be...
Chocolate.
tankman May 22nd 2010 3:20PM
So if the answer is always 42...
How many time's have you kicked some one from a pug based on gearscore?
Try and answer that mr wow.com!
Or this (because it just popped into my head)
How many times have you offered to give me 20k gold?

Gorgy May 22nd 2010 3:36PM

@Matt Low
How we have some good weather for you this weekend then!
This weekend I will be taking on the lvl 9000 boss: The Giant Pile of Dirt Laundry. Hopefully I can one shot it, but it is looking more like I will need all the attempts available.
Otherwise I will be trying to catch up on TV shows (House, Fringe) and playing my many many alts.
Ohhh and a shameless plug: I started a new blog/toon that I plan to play every Thursday and blog about it afterward... Tales from the Squishy Side http://talesfromthesquishyside.blogspot.com/
Kole May 22nd 2010 4:01PM
OMG....*Hope we have...sigh

Jeremy May 22nd 2010 11:36PM
I think I will be facing a similar boss, though its size doesn't seem to be nearly as large as yours sounds. Maybe you are doing Heroic mode The Giant Pile of Dirty Laundry while I am merely doing regular (easy) mode.
fearthefireblade May 22nd 2010 4:21PM
Dhani Jones played linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles before going on to host a show about culture on cable TV. He collects art and maintains a website where he will talk with fans. He is a warrior and a gentleman.

hmm I wonder when Vogon's will become a playable race.
