In TBC (when threat was more of an issue) I used to time my usage of Soulshatter based on the anticipated length of the fight.eg: in a 10 minute fight I would pop Soulshatter after 2 mins then again just before the final burndown of the bossThis basically meant I only really had to watch my threat for the first couple of minutes then I could let rip with reckless abandon for the next 3-4 minutes (as I had roughly 50% of the threat the tank has spent the last 2 minutes building). Usually I'd have caught up by the time we reached the stage where I'd be popping all cooldowns to finish off the boss at which point I could Soulshatter again and go all out.
