Breakfast Topic: Waiting out the Catacylsm
With all of the recent information we've seen from sources -- both official and not -- about the upcoming Cataclysm expansion, excitement couldn't be higher. But without so much as a release date to look forward to, patience for the World of Warcraft as we know it is growing thin. Why keep raiding when quest rewards in new expansion zones will do me just as well? How many alts can one really level before the prospect becomes mere tedium? (Especially when those daily Cataclysm screenshots make the revamped old world look so exciting!) But with Blizzard's we'll-release-it-when-it's-done philosophy -- and mind you, I think it's a great philosophy -- we could be waiting an awfully long time before Cataclysm hits. So the question of the day is this: what are you doing while we all wait out Cataclysm?

I'm still playing my first char that I starts back in August 09, and starting to try out the healer and tank specs after mastering Retadin kinda!
Whilst in the background trying the alliance side with a shaman!

I've seen a lot of adjectives describe a lot of things, but in my world, 'furiously' simply doesn't go there.

It's what psychologists call angry masturbation. Usually the people to perform this form of self gratification are those with anger management problems.
Or he could just be saying he will be going at it non-stop........
Careful man, you don't want to get a skin graft there....

You mean like, you're angry at it...?

Getting the recruit a friend mount for my druid and finding real noobs who got BC to dump off the side of Outland. And leveling more druids than is really necessary.

I'm working on getting a third character to 80, with the expansion so close raiding seems very pale in comparison to the exciting new things coming out. With things like flying in the old world, zones being revamped I'm taking my sweet time to level a rogue and experience as much of the old world as i can before the expansion hits.

I'm doing the same with my druid. He's level 78 now, probably be 80 after this weekend!

I think a lot of people are levelling alts again. I've played alliance most of my wow life and never got a horde character too high a level. I figured I was missing out on content I might never experience with the horde side quests.
I must say I'm thoroughly enjoying it, the feel is very different from alliance.
I would suggest to people looking for new challenges to start over in another faction. Sure you can have heirlooms but the lack of gold is a challenge.

@KrusherX - My friends and I had the same mindset. 5 of us decided to level a hordie cause none of us had one.
One of our clan got bored with the leveling process and just faction switched one of his 80s. It wasn't geared, so he was trying to get some mats over to his horde toon to get some epics created....(why he didn't do it before he switched, idk..)
We head to the Booty Bay AH, my Alliance toon was posting the mats, and his hordie was buying them out.
Unfortunately, someone was killing NPC's in BB, and right after I posted the orbs, the guy came over and aggroed the AH NPC. He couldn't click on the dude to pick up the mats.
By the time the guy took off and the AH dude went back to his spot, someone else had purchased 8 crusader orbs for 1 copper. I bet that person was jumpin in his/her chair with that steal of a deal.

Im trying to find an arena team for 2's and 3's and some raiding also!

Basically quit raiding until the expansion -- ICC is just too yawn inspiring at this point. And no, Ruby Sanctum isn't going to do it either...that'll be a one-time shot for the sake of doing it. So basically it's badge gearing alts, yakking with friends, and taking it easy, making plans for Cataclysm. All in all it's not a bad time for a break.

Gathering as much gold as I can and ensuring my 5 level 80s are truly, 100% ready. And keeping a close eye on profession info so I know what will be the real money maker, and what will be optimal for raiding.

I have so much to do. There are raids my guild has not cleared from old content as well as Ulduar and ICC in Wrath. I look at the rep that's not exalted and I am currently working on Steamwheedle Cartel. I want my T2 gloves for the set so there are Blackwing Lair runs to be done. My guild is helping any members who want Classic Dungeonmaster or Raider so we are running vanilla 5-mans and will be running the vanilla raids more frequently. I'm spending a lot of time taking screenshots of Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor so, after it changes, I have proof that "This wasn't here and this over there has changed". I have alts, although guild members laugh that they are almost bank toons with interesting names. I hop on them occasionally and quest but I am usually on my main remembering all the places I've been in the years I've played.

Playing other games and levelling alts with the Dungeon Finder. It seems quite a waste to go through all the zones I've been through before again, just to realize how much better they could be and hey! They will be better soon... Healing at low-levels has become fun this way, so I'm kind of fine concerning WoW. Though, other games to supplement are really needed to pass these Cataclysm-empty and cold nights.... /sniff
