Here is a fun one kids. What instance pops and you absolutely refuse to tank it, or run it in general. For me it's HHoR. I am sick of that place after having to run normal close to 40 times to get my tanking shield (Another topic), and now whenever I see HOR in any form reg or otherwise, I just refuse to do it. Ill take my 30 min debuff every time.
Ok your turn. What load screen pops and insta turns your stomach and makes you say "there is no way in hell I am doing this place"?

I give every dungeon at least one wipe before leaving. This applies to my tank and other toons as well. If we do wipe, I evaluate how we did. Taking Halls of Reflection as the popular example, if we wipe before defeating the first boss, I'm out. If we wipe on the hardest/final waves, I'll give it another try and reevaluate the situation (kick as needed, etc.).
As much as I might not need items from the dungeons, I try to keep in mind that I'm here to play the game with other people as well and the dungeon could provide some big boosts to them. At the same time I'm not here to completely waste my time for people who are super behind in gear and hopefully they understand that.

Well Bornakk, i know I'm playing a game with other people, and thats why i don't even try to tank HHoR on my DK anymore, cause they will be able to get a new tank and continue on their way a lot faster then having to fail with me as a tank for a few wipes

Hard for me to relate to this as I fail at nothing.
...
Okay, well, I maybe it's more like I am good enough to get by in dungeons and push to improve myself if I feel I'm in the fail-boat.

I'm concerned with Cataclysm Blizzard will be ruining many of these zones from people who leveled up in them. These areas hold a certain sentimental value to many people. I was speaking with a girl who plays WoW the other day and she had the same concerns.

Well "ruining" is a mighty strong word. Hopefully no one rides through a zone post-Cataclysm and exclaims "It's ruined!" Unless of course they're referring to the literal effect the cataclysm has had on the area...
I think it's entirely exciting. After five 80's, a couple 70's, and a couple more still sitting at 60, I've been in a consistent pattern of what zones I like or don't like, my leveling progression, and where I go and when for a long time. But that's changing, and I believe it's going to be for the better. I'm excited to level up and not know what to expect. To have a fresh experience. While I have fond memories of a lot of zones, I'm ready for a change. I'm ready for new quests with modern mechanics, better flow questing through a zone, to experience all these areas in a new way, with updated design, and quest structure, pacing, itemization, XP, gold gains, etc.
I'm leveling another character now just to look around, make sure it's fresh in my mind before the sundering... but I'm ready to watch it all burn, and I'm going to have fun playing in the ashes.

Yes, but what iLvl is it? What's its stats? And does nylon and plastic count as cloth or as leather?
Docp May 25th 2010 12:58AM
No Hunger for Blood in Cataclysm, now that is interesting. I wonder what kind of spell we'll get in the 51 point spot then.
Randomize May 25th 2010 2:08AM
Maybe something that is actually a new ability, instead of what is basically a damage increasing spell. Probably a cooldown spell, like Killing Spree.
Sithril May 25th 2010 2:26AM
Who knows, but I'd put my money on a Rupture's big brother.
Why? Slice and Dice is covered, Envenom takes place of Evis. and Muti is our combo generator. I would like to have something for my Assassin rogue to spice up the standard rotation a bit, rather than a cooldown - that could go for the 31-pointer, or an updated Cold Blood.

Personaly that entire line is the most epic thing I've heard in a while.

Maybe because it's that perfect time of night, or I'm that perfect kind of drunk, but Bornakk's line:
Hard for me to relate to this as I fail at nothing.
had me rolling for 15 solid minutes, just unable to responde with anything but sheer awe, and piles of laughter.
Xano May 25th 2010 5:28AM
@Himcules: I was at work at the time of reading, my coworkers were wondering why I was laughing in an evil way :P

I must say that Bashiok is the epitome of what a 'lock is.

Odd that he would have a problem with people being in HHoR that "completely waste my time for people who are super behind in gear". I would think that one of the game dev/designers or liason with them would have less of a problem with low-geared players being in the instance rather than the fact that the LFD tool is what put them in there in the first place.

Context is also important for me when judging whether a wipe should be reason for me to leave. It it was due to bad luck, well, it happens. But if it was due to some massive incompetence of one or more party members, adios muchachos.
Amarum May 25th 2010 6:31AM
Totally agree.
A few days ago we wiped HHoR at first boss. We talked for a bit, changed the strategy a bit and then we succeeded without any other wipes. The tank was a bit undergeared but he was really good overall. Considering this, just because we wiped at the first boss we didn't give up and had a really good time the 2nd time around.
Unrelated: The other day we did 2 normal runs for the guild and it was amazing how easy it was compared to heroic :) We had a 2k gs pala healer with us and had no problem at all thanks to an overgeared dk tank.

I fell in to a burning ring of fire
I went down,down,down
and the flames went higher.
And it burns,burns,burns
the ring of fire
the ring of fire.
vinniedcleaner May 25th 2010 9:11AM
We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it
Dharmabhum May 25th 2010 9:21AM
Burn out the day
Burn out the night
I can't see no reason to put up a fight
I'm livin' for givin' the devil his due
And I'm burnin', I'm burnin', I'm burnin' for you
I'm burnin', I'm burnin', I'm burnin' for you...
MusedMoose May 25th 2010 10:22AM
So far awaaaaaay we wait for the day!
For the light source so wasted and gone!
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days -
Through the fire and the flames we carry on!
seanthehorde May 25th 2010 10:55AM
Nevermore to be held down
By the weights against me
Nevermore to be cast aside
This day is mine
Even through the darkest days
This fire burns always
This fire burns always
I will not be denied in this final hour
I will not be denied this day is mine
This passion inside me
Is burning
Is burning
This passion inside me
Is burning
Is burning
