It's been a little while since we've heard from the enigmatic Wowcrendor, but it looks like the maestro of narrative parody is back with How to win at PUGs and GearScore. This video is a return to his classic form, even featuring that everyman named Billy. Wowcrendor takes Billy on a tour of your average PUG member, right down to that guy who keeps screaming "Go go go go go."
How to win at PUGs and GearScore doesn't actually spend very long talking about GearScore, but it does throw in a mention of the Celestial Steed. I'm defintiely glad this video came out before Cataclysm. It'll be nice to bookmark this summary of PUG life to compare it in the next expansion. While I'm not naive enough to think things will change radically, I am still hopefully that new designs and instances will make your average PUG at least slightly friendlier.

I had to pause and examine the chart, lol. I find though, that as a girl player with girl characters ppl still assume you are a guy.
Hey [insert girl name belonging to girl character played by a girl with a girly mount and girly minipet here] is coming down the tunnel with the flag, support HIM!!
It is safer to assume you are a guy than a girl. Boys get more offended when you call them a girl, than girls do when you call them a boy. Also, most people in BGs do not look at gender. It is more like, this person has flag. PROTECT FLAG!
Not always! I had not one, but TWO shamans who were impatient in the same pug. One was the healer... They decided to go pulling stuff on their own. I asked them to kindly stop, and the healer did, but the DPS shammy told me to "qq moar" and continued pulling shit. So, I decided enough was enough and conveniently "forgot" where my Death and Decay button was when they pulled, until they had died. I'd then toss down DnD and the rest of us would finish off the group. =P
I got the GOGOGOGOGOGO guy one time.. as the tank.. yelling at us to go.. and he was arms spec. We tried to explain to him HE WAS THE TANK.. but he was too busy spazzing that he was party leader and we should do what he said and GO! GO!..
He ran off a cliff and died on the first pull, so we all walked back out the instance portal and stuck him with a repair bill.
Thats because some specs/classes simply cannnot do good DPS without a full rotation which requires TIME, which is lacking in heroics if mobs are dying in less than 2 seconds.
Look up spriest playstyle. Maybe less than 2k in icc gear is extreme, but honestly if I'm feeling lazy and don't want to multidot its possible.
Oh, trust me, I know the pains of having ramp up time. I play an Affliction Warlock. The only way I can hope to do any DPS in a heroic is spamming Seed of Corruption. I know the pains of the Shadow Priest well.
I was more talking about Death Knights, Warriors, Rogues, and Paladins doing less than 2k dps in full epics when auto-attacking with an epic weapon should be putting them higher than that...
Yeah, as an ICC-geared mage there are times in heroics (especially melee-heavy groups) that I can't get a second fireball cast before the mob is dead. Living Bomb? Forget it.
ahhh LFD tool how I love and hate you. quick run down of the random "winners" I've gotten recently - 1.) the druid tank who jumped to his death after EVERY pull in H-FoS because he thought it was "fun" 2.) the tank who pulled the first hall of halls of stone only to scream that we weren't keeping up with him and leave in the middle of the pull 3.) the retardo mage who kept attacking mobs before the tank was even in taunt range because and I quote "has a 6.2k gear score" yeah sorry, didn't realise that gear score suddenly meant you were wearing plate. 4.) the tank who stopped in the middle of the gauntlet for H-PoS and just STOOD there talking about how "baked" he was - yeah special note those mobs don't stop spawning. good freaking times.
As a healer who has gear I don't mind when tanks pull fast hell sometimes I even turn into the "go go go" guy - what I do mind is if I'm five rooms away from you and you keep pulling - I can't heal you through a damn wall and I'd like the opportunity to at least loot the 50 mobs the group just aoe'd down :/
One of my healers is dual-spec for prot - but I'm scared to even try it too much pressure :(

Male player with a mostly female list of characters here. Just saying I personally don't care when people refer to me in game with female pronouns.
Tirrimas May 25th 2010 2:48PM
Unless I know the gender of the player (which isn't often :P) I'll refer to the gender of the toon.

depressingly truthful...

It's funny because it's true.

Love wowcrendor, simple style but great humor, and he hits the nail on the head with most of his stuff.
The PUGs clichées are there for a reason. By now I'm honestly surprised if a random Oculus group can start without at least two people dropping right away.
Bronwyn May 25th 2010 4:35PM
I not-so-subtly start every Oculus run with "Yay! Oculus! Extra emblems, gems, and maybe a mount!"

Really accurate, funny, and the voice acting was really good.
The guy yelling "Go" sounded strangely familiar.... I swear I've heard that voice before.

excellent vid, though he did forget the "CC is so 2005" guy who focus fires the newly sheeped

I've had way too many of the people in ICC25 man gear pulling less than 2k DPS. Way too many.
