It's no problem for you to sit and drink while he's pulling and gaining aggro, then you can just get up and start DPSing when you're ready! It's a matter of time efficiency, not a matter of your... uh.. Disposability? The group won't wipe just because a warlock was drinking instead of DPSing for the first few seconds of a pull.
But your point remains. You got in a huff over it and left. The group won't care, they'll click a button and you will be instantly replaced. You are the one who lost out just because you got your dander up and found offense in something harmless.
