Cataclysm screenshot of the day
The latest Cataclysm screenshot from Blizzard is shown above, featuring a look at Gadgetzan in the new Tanaris. Something tells me the Gadgetzan Water Company isn't going to be too worried about those water wells anymore.

Does this mean that that useless port over there might ACTUALLY BE USED? YES!!!!!
kabshiel May 28th 2010 9:05PM
Seems more likely that the "worthless port" will be underwater.
Fletcher May 28th 2010 9:10PM
Since the goblins are evidently engaging in shipbuilding right outside Gadgetzan's south gate, either way I think Steamwheedle Port has just become obsolete.

Well there may be players who may be considering about drowning their characters in the water anyway. Reason? Noggenfogger Elixir no longer exists, at least not in the current build.

There's a dock just left of the screenshot, connected directly to Gadgetzan.

And you guys said the polar caps were just fine. Sheesh...we warned you! We said the ice stone had melted, but did you believe us? Noooooo!

And South Park quote: "We were told that this would happen, and we didn't listen...WE DIDN'T LISTEN!"
Tomatketchup May 29th 2010 10:35AM
We didn't listen to you, and see what happened!
We have a perfect bath resort right outside Gadgetzan! Stop being so negative!
Fletcher May 28th 2010 9:04PM
Wow! I didn't realize that that much of Tanaris was getting flooded! I wonder if Steamwheedle Port is OK?
It looks like Gadgetzan has expanded towards the North, and the Horde flight point has moved inside the walls. Which suggests to me that the new area may be a Bilgewater Cartel enclave.
Drakkenfyre May 28th 2010 9:16PM
It's actually not. Only the coast from the east to Gadget is flooded. Nothing else. The water doesn't go much further than Gadget.
theRaptor May 29th 2010 10:06AM
Both flight points are inside the walls. Presumably to stop AFKer ganking and other flight point camping.
Of course that won't help unless they fix the exploit of killing people from an elevated position which prevents the guards from reaching (they should just give the guards shadow step and be done with it). There are several points in Gadgetzan where even the guards rifles won't knock you from.

Its saltwater! They'll still be worried. But I'm glad the Cartels closest settlement to the Undermine will actually have a port!
brian May 29th 2010 6:36AM
Nah, they'll just hire a fire mage and a frost mage for desalination.
Cart the water indoors, heat, use the steam as a nice hot sauna, and then cool the steam that escapes the inner building and funnel it into the wells. Poof, drinkable water, relaxation, and something else that they can charge people for.
Pheras May 29th 2010 10:04AM
Thank you! I hate that Blizzard in general has forgotten that salt water isn't good for drinking and doesn't bring life to dry lands (e.g. Desolace in Cataclysm). It's driving me nuts. I don't even live near salt water and I know that it's bad for plants and most animals.
Koleckai May 29th 2010 10:58AM
Are you sure the seas of Azeroth are salt?
Resurect May 28th 2010 9:09PM
I can probabilly be wrong, but by the picture i would say that Gadgetzan will go Horde
Notice that the wyverns move to inside the city and i can't see a gryphon anywhere, very weird
Bernie Roscoe May 28th 2010 9:13PM
Gadgetzan will be forever neutral
Avan May 28th 2010 9:55PM
There would be more Horde banners around if that were true. The Alliance flight point is probably obscured so that people make speculations like yours.
Darthoej May 28th 2010 10:00PM
It looks like the Alliance FP is where it always was. Look in the very back by the boat, you can barely make out what looks like an alliance flag.
