i had a dk meleeing without weapons, and never said a word either so i couldn't put him on ignore. i tried to kick but got the error "you can't vote to kick for another 15 minutes"
so annoying. i'd rather have someone that will actually, you know, TRY. forcing a group to 4 man a dungeon is rude and not being able to kick that person is a real downer

To ignore someone who won't talk all you have to do is type /ignore DouchebagX-server name.
It's not as easy, but it works and is worthwhile.

It works SOMETIMES. I've tried that workaround and even with characters servers with relatively simple names, I sometimes get errors.
Anyway, this new change is good stuff.

@Ringo
It isn't a workaround to type /ignore PlayerName-Server...
The errors you are seeing are probably due to missing accents or other silly marks that people put into their names.
The actual workaround for silly punctuation is to get an addon that lets you copy stuff out of the chat window, copy their name, and then type /ignore .
If they never pick anything up (even greys) then to get their name you can use your dps tracker and have it print out the results in a /say (in the middle of nowhere plz... not Dalaran) and THEN copy/paste their name.
Both Recount and Skada show the server behind the name if they aren't on your server.
Hope this helps, doing it has allowed me to ignore people 100% of the time. :)

You might be able to hit enter to type, then go to the combat tab and shift-click the DK's name from the combat log into the chat box. Then just add /ignore servername- in front of his name, and you got him on ignore.

Love this comment system that gave me a "Thank you, an e-mail will be sent to you to confirm your post!" twice in a row, but was secretly posting them the whole time. Just downvote and gray out my first 2 versions of it(the third version had corrected spelling and such).

The solution is to use "%t" - the client will automatically replace %t with the name of the person you are targeting.
You can use this for lots of other reason too. For instance, if someone in your raid has a long or complicated name, you can just click their raid frame and type something like "%t is going to main tanking on the left side of the room." It also has macro uses, of course.

If they have funny chars in their name I usually use
/w myname %t
This will /w yourself with their name which you can then copy and use the /ignore above

The only problem is when the dbag has those annoying high-ASCII characters in their name. Solution is to copy their name from your combat log (assuming they actually did anything) into your ignore window.
I'm pretty patient but even with having re-enabled the mature language filter I'm catching an awful lot of abuse and not just from tanks or healers with a God complex. I have 6 level 80 toons, the lowest gs among them is 4600ish, and have been playing for a little over 4 years and I can honestly say that the wrath babies and other immature brats have made PUGs the most unpleasant part of my day at times. So much so that my guildies and I take turns queuing 3 or 4 together with our tanks and dps so that we only have to put up with 1 or 2 potential brats at a time. It also gives us control over kicks.

That does work, your right, but it doesn't help that there's way too many people out there with alt text in their names now. If you don't know the alt codes to make the name right it puts a big hamper on trying to be the bigger person and just ignoring someone :(
