This is going to trash the rogue's power over a warlock even further... :/
I can't see the justification for this, Vanish should be used if the rogue's buggered off using Sprint or a clutch stun to get out of reach and then... vanish! Clue is in the name.
Currently Vanish is used to further a rogue's opening stunlock of pain, to buff that is making peeling impossible by a team-mate, and is against the nature of the ability. How can you vanish, be right next to me, and I can't see or hit you?
Should stay as it is imo, rogue's already have the insane ability to be the only class that can be invisible (barring droods) which gives you the advantage in every arena match. Vanish should be used to facilitate a reset (defensive), not as an ability to further the pwn-damage (offensive).

edit: realised how dumb "trash" was, I meant "buff" but the word felt painful when related to rogues :P

You've clearly never played a Rogue. Rogues are the number 1 counter for a Lock. That's just the Rock -> Paper -> Scissors system Blizz has.
Pro tip: Trinket Kidney Shot -> Death Coil -> Fear -> Wait for Trinket, Cloak and Vanish -> Shadowfury -> Profit.
The purpose of Vanish is to put me in stealth so I can re-open. If it doesn't then why bother having it as an ability?

@Seth
I have played a rogue, and I play a lot of arena, so understand that a rogue is the countercomp of locks. If I Coil and then throw a fear down, I can't dps or ill break the CC and I have to switch to it's partner. The rogue won't use their trinket on the first fear they gets, they'll wait and use it situationally. After the first fear the rogue will probably use sprint to re-engage me and knock me down a further 40%, forcing me to use Shadowfury and trying to get distance with succi.
Also you misunderstand me, I am ok with Vanish as a reset, it's the potential it will now have to keep a rogue from getting peeled by the Coil as you yourself suggested.

You seem to be talking about 2's. Blizzard have made it clear that 2's and duels are not what they balance around. Get over it.
It is pretty funny to see Warlocks whining about rogues when for most of BC locks where the anti-any-other-caster class and saw nothing wrong with that.
