Patch 3.3.5: Ruby Sanctum release delayed

ZarhymDue to the fact that we will be delaying the release of patch 3.3.5 in Europe, Korea and Taiwan in order to ensure the patch process in all regions is as smooth as possible, the Ruby Sanctum will not immediately be available on North American realms upon the release of the patch. Once patch 3.3.5 has been released in North America and we are confident about a time when we can open up Ruby Sanctum, we will provide an update here on the forums.
If any updates to this change in schedule are posted, we'll let you know.

So European servers can get an expansion several hours early to start their grinding but American servers can't have a raid early?
Alexander Krizak Jun 2nd 2010 2:49AM
If you can't see the difference between several hours and a week, you need to learn how to tell time.
Autowand Jun 2nd 2010 2:53AM
Add all the other small amounts of hours for all the content patches with new raids since release, that's close to a week right?
Palanubis Jun 2nd 2010 3:53AM
Except that the US has all the patches 1 day before EU...
So that would be a couple of weeks of a headstart only for the US instead of the EU.

Autowand, if you conclude than when americans get their new content patch raids tuesday and europeans get it on wedensday, that gives the europeans the new content patch raids hours earlier, i really agree that you need to learn how to tell time.
America gets ALL the raids early, except on a launch of a new expansion. Including this raid.

The big hand is at "You're" and the little hand is at "pwned"

The big hand is at "You're" and the little hand is at "pwned"
Actually this would read as "pwned You're". Since the little hand represents hours and big hand represents minutes and normally time is read in a hh:mm:ss format the correct phrase should have been:
The little hand is at "You're" and the big hand is at "pwned"

Who cares if somebody gets the patch before somebody else? I'm pretty sure that less than 1% of WoW's players care about world firsts.
Autowand Jun 2nd 2010 6:26PM
I guess I could have checked to see when the release days are for European servers...my bad. :)
Alexander Krizak Jun 3rd 2010 10:26PM
Makes sense. They don't want to intentionally give some of the high-end guilds in America a headstart on the Ruby Sanctum over the ones in other regions, obviously.
Any complaints about this delay in these comments should be required to link to their character's achievement for downing Heroic Lich King. If you haven't done that, no need to complain, you still have something to do.
Arann Jun 2nd 2010 2:54AM
Right, because every guild will be downing H-LK before touching Ruby Sanctum.
I would like my patch content on patch day, please. I don't think that's too much to ask since we'll be dealing with any major issues with the new bnet stuff coming down the pipe.
Honestly, if they're going to use the North American servers as guinea pigs, we might as well get some extra time on the new content.
RogueJedi86 Jun 2nd 2010 3:12AM
Screw it, let some American guilds have a shot at some world firsts again. Ensidia and Paragon are both European and they took most of the world firsts in Icecrown Citadel. Even though it'd be an unfair advantage, giving American guilds a few days of Ruby Sanctum playing might help them actually get a World First over our European Competition.
It's all in the name of friendly competition, Europals. :)

@Arann
IMO just give North America that week for free :P That way no one's getting a head start, but NA players are still getting something for the bugs that are going to be flying everywhere.
Laffe Jun 2nd 2010 4:31AM
@Arann
Actually I don't think this is about using the American servers as guinea pigs, it's most likely a localization problem which may or may not be coupled with localization issues of the new b.net services.
This is all speculation, of course, but that is what seems most logical to me.

"I would like my patch content on patch day, please."
Sure, we can do that. On Patch Tuesday, we'll get Stage 1 of the patch with all the Bnet stuff. We'll all this one 3.3.5a. On another Patch Tues, we'll get Stage 2 (3.3.5b) with Ruby Sanctum. Look two different patch days with patch content.
It's like your birthday and Christmas at the same time, except you aren't cheated on gifts. The lag and instability we'll be like your parents forgot the batteries, but they'll hit the store in a couple days and put in some fixes.

cpt. Obvious reporting for duty!
nekorion Jun 2nd 2010 2:54AM
not surprised.
If you are I have a question for you.
When someone says boo, do you expect a ghost?
Foxfyr Jun 2nd 2010 8:08AM
I most certainly am not you.
Knob Jun 2nd 2010 2:55AM
Tbh, I don't think any guilds that are in actual contention for world-first kills would bother with who got the world first kill on Halion.
mbeck Jun 2nd 2010 8:10AM
This - I wasn't aware anybody really cared about this as a serious progression raid. It's just another filler to try and keep things lively in the waning months of the expansion. Sure it'll be a challenge for a bit, but I think it's just gonna be something to pug in spare time like VoA (and OS was)
imo they got the timing completely wrong on these raids, they should've let Ulduar play out a little longer, most progression guild never got to finish it, then go straight to ICC and THEN use ToC as a filler at the end for people who wanted something to get do / get revved for a new expac. ToC was a terrible non progression raid stuck in between two epic raid dungeons.
