The Daily Quest: Catawhatysm?

Waiting for Cataclysm? I'm pretty sure all of us are right now -- a bit bored, a dash disillusioned and hoping beyond hope that the expansion is the answer to all of our gaming woes. But without a release date to keep us company on these cold nights, all we can do is wait. Well, that and blog about it.
- I Sheep Things has a Cataclysm wish list that includes bats, bandages and banks.
- The Pink Pigtail Inn thinks it's time to shake things up and make our own Cataclysm.
- The Hunter's Mark takes a look at the history of dungeons and what we can expect to see in Cataclysm.
- Marks-365 tackles the Blog Azeroth shared topic on what needs to go in Cataclysm.
- Bible of Dreams chimes in on another Blog Azeroth shared topic with five ways to get ready for Cataclysm.
- Horde of One (which I've just discovered via Bible of Dreams) also offers some advice on prepping for Cataclysm (with, of course, plenty of others talking about it on Blog Azeroth).

I actually had a discussion about what would be good first aid changes in cataclysm in the it came from the blog guild the other night

Talked about possibilities of antibiotics and antiseptics that you could apply to different bandages for different effects.

I've never understood why, with the plethora of bandages we can make, we still don't have anything that will stop bleeding. Why can't a grand master first aidy person make their own damn Luffas?

And if it's unbalanced versus other classes, either give it a large cooldown, or just don't make it usable in PvP.
The other bandages are a very good idea though. Being able to remove dots and actually get some healing would be nice. Even if they healed for less, you'd be getting more healing overall, because it wouldn't be interrupted.

I would worship at the feet of Blizzard for ever if they would introduce a top hat into the game. My bank alt has a monocle and cane and a top hat would just finish him off nicely.
I promise Blizz, give me this and I'll never hassle you again.
(just don't make it some retarded $25 shop purchase please)

Looking at the Victorian stylings of the Worgen as humans, there had BETTER BE tophats.

It's raining in Desolace o.O !

Catawhatysm? Really? How awkward.
WHATACLYSM?
Yeah, much better.

I agree with many of the points. However, I want more randomness in the instances, even if it is only on heroic difficulty. Rare spawn bosses, Optional bosses, optional mechanics. Even if it steals from Harry Potter, and has staircases that move each time you zone in, so you do the first couple bosses in a different order every time you go in, I want something to change when we're farming them. The closest we've gotten to randomness is the Paletress v Eadric in ToC.
I love any ideas that bolster First Aid. Bandages that are specifically to remove bleed effects. Others to remove Physical effects, like the "noggin crack" or thereabouts. Maybe quick bandages that heal a lot, but give you a debuff that gives a low chance for melee strikes to cause bleeds. Bandages that you could apply prematurely, and in stacks, as a PoM style preventative healing. 2- to 5- Minute inoculations against Poisons or disease attacks.
Even something as simple as Move Healing potions from alchemy to First aid, but keep the upgraded potions (crazy, mad, insane, endless) in Alch, would be a HUGE boon to the profession. I would also love to see a tie-in between Skinning and First aid, so everyone can use all that leather that we skin & sell for a single profession

What about Violet Hold?

stop speaking for "all of us". i'm not bored and i have much to accomplish before i'm ready for cata. just had a night full of hard mode putricide 25 wipes. this is the 2nd post you did like this where you suggest to the audience that everyone is bored. i'm a pretty consistent reader of wow.com so i consider myself part of the "we" that you talk about. so please lay off the assumptions.

You're one of the lucky few, then. A good deal of people have gotten, if not bored, at least a tad bit burned out on the same old. I've taken to pre-inspecting some classes I want to roll for Cataclysm, and pulling double duty to see how the class and the zones change.
Besides, it said "pretty sure" all of us.

...what?
brian Jun 4th 2010 6:45AM
I don't think it's been said before, but BRK is back! And he's taunting us all with vague non-NDA-breaky alpha hunter info.

Looks like we broke Horde of One for the time being. "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later." :(
Lars Petersson Jun 4th 2010 9:06AM
Yeah, I was just about to say that as well...
The terrible price of fame :-o

Hey, this is Shieldbreakr of Horde of One. Yeah, around 1:30am last night you guys killed my bandwidth allotment for the month. I never expected the blog to get linked to so many readers so quickly, but I have modified my account's allowed bandwidth ratio and Horde of One has returned to service. Thanks for reading my stuff! =)

I just thought the other day that it might be neat if our characters got a little more depth and individuality - "character"? - to them:
- how about a BIRTHDAY? Surely a blizz database somewhere has the date these toons were rolled? It'd be slightly neat to get a little buff on the toon's b-day, maybe a card or even a present (of something esthetic or generally meaningless like buff food birthday cake)
- the ability to have a keychain-like bag for clothes, and some in-game context for people not to be standing around in full combat gear all the time. Frankly, it's a little depressing now in Dal when every orc warlock's wearing the same shoulders, hat, pants, cape, etc. In non-combat areas people should be able to wear what they want, and this shouldn't take away from 'real' bagspace.
- I've always wanted 'home' to mean something more. Where your home is should make a difference - like if your home is in TB, maybe a tiny rep gain for TB for everything you do? Or the accumulation of 'home credit' in the sense of buying faction-specific esthetic stuff like the Argent stuff - banners, gruntlings, mounts, tabards, etc.

I read how they wanted to have bat mounts. Okay, bear with me, but since they are adding troll druids, and like in ZG, I think trolls should have Bats as a Flight form and Tigers as a cat form. Anyone else think that would make sense?
