The
Remote Auction House's beta testing has come to a close this evening and is now officially a live, paid-only service. For $2.99 every 30 days, you can buy, sell and trade from anywhere in the world via browser or iPhone. Well, anywhere that you have an internet connection. While non-paying users can still view the auction house, only subscribers can actually do business via the Remote Auction House. Check the official Remote Auction House page for
a breakdown of the differences between free and paid users.
Do note that this subscription fee is
only for the Remote Auction House. Every player can still use the auction house in-game as a part of their usual $15/month. If you're interested in ponying up the $2.99/month but didn't get a chance to try out the app during the testing phase, you can check out our galleries below for a little preview of the service.

Really? I checked and only saw unofficial armor apps.

It's a nice to have and is useful but if your account is linked to an authenicator, you need it to post or claim auctions. I like the armory app cause I can look at my calendar and what nots but having to carry authenicator means I won't be paying for the extra but will make use of the free funtions still

If you are using this on the iPhone, with the iPhone Blizzard Authenticator app, it automatically will import a code without leaving the Armory app.
I don't know if Android has an authenticator app or not, but I assume it would work the same way if it did.

I have a normal authenicator cause I got it for free at blizzcon 08

I think I might have used this once.. I didn't find it necessary. I also will not look down on those who do find it a much needed app. Thanks Blizz, but I'm keeping my 2.99..

For the auctioneer professional this tool really isn't much use. For the adhoc Auctioneer it might be useful but then only as a free app.
Anyone who is making money from the AH uses third party APPs. I don't see me posting 500 auctions using this app, not to mention that I require the ones I Sell to be recorded for future sales.
ONE thing I really like - I could post things straight from my bank without the need to run between AH and said bank! Allow this in game and it would be great, in fact allow me access to my bank from an ATM or a 'in game mobile' and it would be great.

The current UI for this app is very slow for someone that auctions in large volumes and the auction limits are very "limiting" especially if you are into inscription. The functionality is terrible for cancelling, selling and buying auctions since they require multiple inputs by the user. Can you imagine doing this for 200 auctions? This will take what 2-3 hours to do a task that I can complete in the regular auction house in a fraction of the time. Blizzard should pay us to use this clunky piece of crap.
I would like to see auction house availability like this in game too. I have made my bankers engineers so I don't have to worry about some whacked out drug addicted perpetually intoxicated Rogue killing the Auction House Npc.
I agree that access to your bank and mail box would be a great time saver. Plus the ability to craft all of my profession from a single character would also be a very nice feature. Toon hoping wastes a lot of time for me, probably because I am unorganized to begin with, and I would love to have the ability to access all of my stuff without having to log out and log back multiple times to craft.

The most phail thing about this, that makes me want to save my $2.99 is that now I have to level my lvl1 banker to use it. They dont show up on Armory 'til lvl10 I believe... Hassle.

1. Check facts.
2. Post.
Note: These instructions MUST be executed in order to avoid fail.

That's funny, seeing as I sold stuff from my lvl 6 toon.
Cynwise Jun 8th 2010 6:16AM
On the iPhone app it's completely possible to use level 1 characters:

I haven't tried it from the web interface, though.

this was what i thought at first but then i figured out how to log on my bank. click the show more characters option and then add your bank as your main by clicking the green plus sign next to their icon. then click the auctions button again and you should be logged in as them.
wutsconflag Jun 8th 2010 7:56PM
...is that you spelled it "phail".
Aryc Ogre Jun 7th 2010 11:35PM
It is listed as WoW Remote Auction House, and the website on Blizzard comments that it is available on the Android Market.
adshiel Jun 7th 2010 11:59PM
yeah you can do it.

I found it convenient sometimes for when I didn't want to mess with moving around in the game and just want to sell stuff. The part that was really great was it put together all the items in your bags, mailbox and bank. Definitely cut down on the number of times I had to get back to a main city.
I was using it everyday but I wouldn't pay a monthly fee just for this convenience. Though I do understand why they have to charge for it, it's just not anything I really need or want that bad. Also, it was kinda limited in functionality.
unfixed Jun 8th 2010 1:36AM
i'm of two minds on this. i used it a lot, access to all my stuff, not having to collect it and run back to the AH, changing toons without logging on etc and i also made quite a lot of gold from the neutral AH without having to make a trip to it!
but i'm not sure about the fee in cash for this... do i really need to have this
ssjzero Jun 8th 2010 1:46AM
Like i said in my review of the app, Its a great piece of equipment but realistically speaking it would only be worth spending $3 a month extra for one of the following 2 reasons:
1) If they allowed you to send messages using the in game mail system, this would be a great feature to have especially for raid management, if they let you buy items to put in your mail surely its not that hard to send some post
2) If your a gold seller..../sigh
PvtDeth Jun 8th 2010 9:35AM
Next time you want to write something like, "there are only two reasons," go ahead and change that to, "I can only think of two reasons." There are, apparently, more ways to do things than just what you have come up with.
I doubt that anyone is going to use this as a replacement for the normal auction house, but like so many other things that have been added to this game, it makes for a nice supplement. I really liked using the beta to keep an eye on my many auctions without having to log in to the game client. It's also made my arbitrage operation much, much more efficient. My level 3 auction mule just stays parked at the neutral AH permanently now. Very nice to be able to collect cross-faction transfers and very quickly afterward post them to the regular AH.

I don't like this wave of paid services and items. I am already paying a damn subscription for this game! I understand services like character move, faction and name change, because these are actions that can disrupt the game flow (to avoid people moving between servers and factions following PvP fortunes, etc), but what's the reason of pets, mounts, and this?
I'm not going to pay for any of this. Instead, I'm gonna play LOTRO as soon as it gets free-to-play, at least I know I have to pay for extras.
