I don't know about you, but working on PCs doing word processing, spreadsheet entries, code writing, and data mining I tend to use the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift keys a lot.

I don't really see how having to train your muscle memory to read 10-key sideways is any more difficult than remembering which modifier key to press. One can't honestly be doing all that much WASD moving when you're healing that you can't spare a pinky to hit one of these nicely spaced together keys (esp since most players seem to bind non-instants to modifiers).
