Phat Loot Phriday: Vanquished Tentacle of C'Thun

There were probably combat applications for the Vanquished Tentacle back in the day. Like, it summoned a tentacle that would fight for you and stuff. But nowadays, I mostly see it used by blood elves in Silvermoon for roleplay. (Look, I'm not judging, I'm just saying.) The tentacle that is summoned is large and green and longer than your average tentacle. The truth is that if you're looking to play a warlock in touch with insane elder gods, you could do worse than to use the Vanquished Tentacle as a roleplay prop.
Or you could drape yourself in the blood of Yogg-Saron, but who would be dumb enough to do that?
Name Vanquished Tentacle of C'Thun
Type Trinket
Attributes Summons a Vanquished Tentacle to your aid for 30 sec. (3 Min Cooldown)
How to get it Kill an Elder God. It used to take about 40 people, but you can do it with a handful nowadays. I've not yet heard of anyone soloing it, though.
How to get rid of it It sells to 10 gold. I'd have thought one's sanity worth more than that.

Love the pic.

Not soloable as he resets if you are the only one alive and in his stomache.
Still, awesome trinket and epic fight!

I still carry this around in my bags...among many many other beloved items such as my Necro-Knights Garb, and splinters I will never use. http://www.wowhead.com/item=23069/necro-knights-garb

Me too! I love my necro-knight garb!

I can't imagine anyone being able to solo the Twins. Running AQ40 is worth it for this and the red bug.
JaneLame Jun 13th 2010 10:09AM
Yeah, you have to keep the twins away from each other so they won't heal one another. The only way to solo it that I can think of, is if your char is really, really fat.
Hey, that could make a good "your mama" joke. Your mama's so fat she can tank both Vek'lor and Vek'nilash from both her sides, and they'd still be too far off to heal each other.

Use it at the same time as http://www.wowhead.com/item=46312 to double your tentacle goodness. Even better, wear http://www.wowhead.com/item=46127 at the same time.

It is fun to pop it in unlikely places, like the bank or AH. Last time I made it come out from the Dalaran fountain (the one where people fish coins) :)

"But nowadays, I mostly see it used by blood elves in Silvermoon for roleplay."
Look, I know Rule 34 is always in effect, but could we let it drop just this once? I'd really rather forget the mental images that conjures.

Unless it involves Bea Arthur... afraid not.

I liked to use this to pull Auriaya.
Me: "Sit back hunters and DKs, I got this pull." *pops tentacle and runs*
Raid: "What is THAT?"

I like to use this trinket in Dalaran, near the Horde inn. If you stand slightly away and pop it, you can make it look like the tentacle is coming right out of the sewer cover! I always get a few comments about it ... I love that trinket!

What happens when you summon both Vanquished Tentacle of C'thun and Vanquished Clutches of Yogg-Saron?
Clydtsdk-Rivendare Jun 11th 2010 3:29PM
Same thing as two Falcon Punches colliding.
Marcosius Jun 11th 2010 7:00PM
Epic "arm" wrestling?

One of my favorite times ever, I had the chum the water daily for argent tourney and picked up stacks and stacks of it. And used them in the fountain in dal. Watching people freak out in trade and yell their silly (and very wrong) explanations for what was happening... I laughed until I cried. And watching everyone swarm around the vrykul and "land sharks" was fun, like I made my own mini raid in town. Hundreds of bodies everywhere.
