hmm despite what happened in the comic, I find C'thun's involvement unlikely considering the location is Grim Batol. That's not to say that old gods might not be involved, but I'm leaning more towards something involving the Twisting Nether. Why? We already know they captured a baby (small) Gronn, mostly likely captured by Baron Sablemane. Who is to say they haven't captured other creatures or perhaps "Old Gods" from some place in the Twisting Nether. This is the place where the Twilight flight was created after all.
