Doing battlegrounds with zero reslience is usually okay, unless the other side has a lot of rogues. Most BG's are just "we're gonna blow you up before you blow us up" type deals... plus, you can send in a tank with PvE gear to tank the other side while protecting the ranged and healers.

The reason you want resil gear if the other side is rogue heavy is that they will blow you to smithereens in a stunlock, but if you can survive with enough health through a kidney shot, you can get your CC's in and take them down. Rogues are pretty squishy when their abilities are on cooldown.
