Is it possible to enchant heirlooms? I was under the impression that you can't do that, nor can you etch runes.

You can enchant heirlooms with enchants available in vanilla WoW anything from subsequent expansions will require a higher item level (as heirlooms have an item level of 1).

Heirlooms can be enchanted with any non soulbinding Enchantment. Scroll to the bottom of this Wiki page for a list of recommended Enchantments for Heirlooms.www.wowwiki.com/Heirloom

As far as I'm aware, soulbinding enchants don't remove the Bind on Account status. My level 56 hunter can use my level 75 rogue's BOA shoulders that are enchanted. The enchant effect just doesn't apply because of level restrictions - +100 mana on my mage's robe won't keep my priest from using it later.

Thanks for all your comments. I guess I've been too used to getting the best enchants. No wonder those are fine. Learn a new thing each day!

actually i just hit 35 reps at exalted with ZG, (on my way to the exalted) and the rep enchants for shoulders from them are very nice and they take effect at 55, the lowest ones beside argent dawn resist ones.(and possibly the old naxx40 ones, but who has one of those in their bank?) +30AP or 18 spell is rather spiffy. the downside is you need to be exalted with ZG.other useful ones are the aldor/scryer ones i believe work, and the lvl 70 30 stam/15 resil you can grab from the honor vendor.also the epic honor bracers from wsg at 40 will be the envy of all your mates/
