If you use IceHUD to get your Health bar in your face so you remember to heal yourself, you absolutely do not count as an addonless healer, Gamer. I'ma sorry. :)Things like making sure parts of the UI (your health bar, for example) are where you need them to be so you don't go cross-eyed are exactly what healing addons are about. DBM is a great addon, but it hardly counts as a healing addon (I guess that's debatable, since it informs when high damage abilities will come through, but still-). The most prevalent form of healing addon is simply a raid frame of some sort that shows debuffs. This is essentially no different from your IceHUD showing you your own life bar. It's just showing you everybody's bar, and putting them in a convenient place, so that you don't, as you mention, let yourself or others die, or important debuffs go undispelled, etc., as a consequence of simply not having caught something in your peripheral vision while you were running to the designated spot to become an ice-block on Heroic Sindragosa. And I will definitely get you start on the people who say, "If you are this good without, imagine how good you'll be with!" What made you go get IceHUD, anyway? I would imagine you noticed a problem, you wanted to fix it, you found a fix and implemented it. The Blizzard UI is hopelessly broken for high-end raiding (for reasons just like what make you use IceHUD!), and the addons people use aren't crutches, and while I must emphasize that if your raiding team cannot TELL by how your healing that you're using no addons but IceHUD, then what addons you use is absolutely your business. But if you raid with me, and I can tell (and yes, I usually can over the course of a couple of weeks- I've raided with a number of other healers who have funny opinions about addons), and I will start to compensate. I usually do not say anything, I'd like to emphasize, because yeah, it is a game, and no, I'm not hardcore. But yes, I can usually tell (whether I could in your case is uncertain, to be sure, Gamer! I hope I couldn't- I hope you're just that excellent. :) ) and no, I don't usually say anything. I usually just know that so-and-so doesn't use addons, and that's why he/she always misses -this-. I will prepare for -this- and bail him/her out. It's really annoying, but I've never had any success getting people to use anything, and have had some spectacular advice fails on similar but unrelated topics, so I keep my mouth shut, head down, and try to keep the raid up and get the boss dead, and enjoy myself. But if I have a voice in who comes raiding with me, I don't vote for the people whose hatred for addons of peculiar playstyle makes me have to make up for their lack.
