Not every idea or sketch turns into a masterful piece of art. While I'd argue that they still have value, it's just not the way of things that each moment of film is going to turn into brilliance like Citizen Kane or legends like Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter. Sometimes, these metaphorical scraps of film don't make it anywhere but the floor of the editing room. And, like I said, those scraps do have value; there's often neat or fun little bits in there.
Machinimator Paus has gathered these pieces together into an overall larger piece of work called Confusion. He's got a couple different things happening in this film, so see if you can't sort out what he's created. This work is influenced by Derren Brown's How to Control the Nation.
In case you recognize a bit or two of this piece, but don't recall from where, Paus is the master behind Idea. I still think of Idea as being one of the most original and dinstinctive machinima films I've seen this year, so it's always awesome to see something new from Paus.
Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an e-mail at machinima AT wow DOT com.
I rather enjoyed the Japanese chicks dragging the dragon into Thrall's chamber. But then, I've always had a thing for Japanese chicks and dragons, so it's probably just me.
Thanks for the feature! I'll clear some things up a bit. All the things you see in the movie are things I never got to use for anything, because I did not like them. I would hate to throw things you put time into away, so I thought "lets make a ridiculous compilation!!@21oneone"
I was watching Derren Brown how to control the Nation, and then thought, "lets-put-subliminal-messages-that-don't-work-at-all-but-look-really-weird and-put-that-into-the compilation!!onenoetwo" So I did :(
And thus this horrible result. But still, I enjoyed making this compilation of delusion and weirdness.
It seeems I am only one apreciating the work of an artist. It is exceptional piece of our art. It is so different from nowdays machinama that it is worth watching it. (like Piccaso with cubism, nobody liked his Guernica in its time but now it is one of the most famous pictures, Hope this doesn't become habit)

And, of course, this is coming from an account that is used only to ridicule, agree with ridicule, and post "I want" for giveaways.

That didn't upset me as much as the Belf Rap videos... but somehow I want to say it was the worst.
Remind me to never watch anything Paus makes ever again.

Also the last minute of video was a complete waste of data, on his and the hosting server's end.

More disturbing is that I think the sound cuts were from Seikon no Qwaser.
Do not google it. It is a bad thing. If you seek to gaze into the chaos behind the event horizon, then do look further.

The dragon kiting scene was my favorite, too.
moxie Jun 18th 2010 12:40PM
That was disturbing on so many levels.
