My dad lives on the other end of the country, so I don't get to see him that often. I'll be giving him a call today, and I did send a card. But what's great was that, earlier this year, he and his girlfriend crashed at my place for about a week, so they got to ride their bicycles all around places in New Mexico and I got to spend some time with him. He's not a big computer guy anymore, so I won't be playing WoW with him, but he does like his new netbook and Win7.Although, I did have to explain the Horde symbol sticker on the back of my car to him. *grin* Great thing was, he's a big NPR listener (usually when he's down in the basement building bicycle frames with steel and fire), so he'd heard a piece about a bunch of WoW players getting together in real life. It made me happy to know that, while he might not really understand one of my hobbies, he knew more about it than just the stereotypes. My dad's a pretty cool guy.
