Patch 3.3.5: Servers coming online

It looks like the long wait may be over, as US servers appear to be slowly coming back online from a lengthy extended maintenance. For now the list of servers up is small, and there's been no official confirmation from Blizzard as to whether or not the downtime is over -- however most servers that are up and live are experiencing queues in the thousands and are locked from further character creation at this time. We'll update this post when the servers are officially back up and running -- until then, why not check out the Tuesday Morning Post for reading material you may have missed?
Update #1: The official Warcraft Twitter just noted the following:

I completed every meta for the acheivement in less than 12 hours. It ain't hard
Fletcher Jun 22nd 2010 8:57PM
I did it in one ...

One day, that is, not one hour.

You get 2 frosties from the boss every day though. We just lost it for today, unless you were able to log in earlier this morning (or if the servers will come on before midnight.) It's why there are queues in the thousands.

" Enjoy your fail " isn't even a sentence.
In fact it "fails" at being one.

even if you did the festival achievements for only Two (2) hours every day for the whole 2 weeks you would have nothing to do the last 5. And that's being generous i reckon. 2 hours every day is hard for some people to get and they still manage to get their stuff done.

The metas that require ungodly amounts of the blossoms (threads) aren't quite as easy depending on how much play time you have in any given day. Maybe they'll extend a day for those still seeking the achievs.
However, I can see no reason why they would hold up a patch just for an in-game holiday. When Cata drops, they are very unlikely to time it to not intrude on a holiday. Move the holiday, not the patch imo.

Based on the realm status app on my iPod, it seems random as to what's on. I have toons on 2 servers. One is on, one is off. Both are in the same BG though.
Oh, and 'Login Server is Busy'

I'm kind of the in the same boat. All the hardcore Blizzard butt kissers love to downvote anyone who complains about this, but the reality is this is a paid service. When crap like this happens, we have a right to complain. And don't tell me, "well go outside," or "Oh no, you can't play WoW for one night." Because some of us have real lives and responsibilities. For example, Tuesday night is the night I don't have to work late. Well so much for WoW for me this week.

Edit: got in woot :P

People downrank people who rag on Blizzard because 90% of the posts are usually pointless QQ rants about how they're "squandering our money and the worst company ever to exist" for one day of extended downtime every couple weeks or "why the hell couldn't they didn't fix a glitch", as if they purposefully left in a glitch just to spite us, or purposefully picked Tuesdays just because you, yes you personally, don't have class/work that day.
And frankly, it's not like complete server lockdowns and extended maintenance days are commonplace. For 95% realms 95% of the time (meaning every other tuesday that isn't a patch day), things are up and running at 11am Pacific with no real problems. The people who complain act as if this is the third time this week they haven't been able to play on a Tuesday night, when really its more like the third time in 6 months.

Wow.com has to do a better job with this. This was the only story that mattered tonight. My server was down. I wanted to know if others were having the same trouble. Nothing posted on the first page of wow.com. I'm not saying that new content can't be posted when maintenance goes overtime, but honestly I don't give a shit about a wow playing baseball player. The tops story is SERVERS ARE DOWN and wow.com's top story should reflect that as long as thats the case. That is news.

NERD RAGE!!!!!!

F**ked up maintenance with new content / UI changes isn't really news. It's expected. Hopefully your mail won't disappear into the nether.

Because going to the realm status portion of the blizzard website would be so hard. QQ moar.
mmmmaaa Jun 22nd 2010 9:01PM
kk douche, so according to the realm status page, several realms have been up for an hour, but it's impossible to log into them. That's news. But you wouldn't know that by looking at this website.
