Turn on shadows and lead the shadow a little bit (get in front of it).

You do need to do it to learn to juggle so you can do the juggling meta in Dalaran, and to buy torches to juggle with. Otherwise you won't be able to catch them. The trick is to pretty much ignore the torch itself; set your camera looking down on yourself, throw the torch, and chase the little dot of shadow it casts.

@Fletcher I did the meta without doing the daily quest (well the second one catching 10) so it's not necessary to do the torch catching daily to do the Torch Juggler achiev.
