Tuesday Morning Post: Burning for you edition

It's been a relatively slow news week the past 7 days, but the Midsummer Fire Festival is in full swing, complete with a level 80 Frost Lord Ahune bearing new ilevel 232 loot -- and lacking his scorchling pet, sadly enough. There's more news to peruse as well, and you'll want to keep an on eye on the site throughout the day and coming weeks for more news and guides on the coming Patch 3.3.5 content.

3.5.5? Did Arthas and Yogg both pull a "merely a setback"?
Lupusian Jun 22nd 2010 5:55AM
Patch 3.5.5: Return of Archavon. Wintergrasp was merely a setback.
uncaringbear Jun 22nd 2010 6:04AM
The Ice Stone melting was also a mere setback.
NRD80Y Jun 22nd 2010 6:04AM
LOL! WIth 1 minute before the server shutdown I just got my 'What a long Strange Trip It's Been" achievement and the Violet Protodrake :)
Yay :)
Blain Jun 22nd 2010 6:04AM
So 3.3.4 was what again ?
d1ckjustice Jun 22nd 2010 6:13AM
3.3.4 was an internal alpha build only that they did not release. It never even hit the PTR. The next public release after 3.3.3 was 3.3.5 PTR which is being released now or soon.
Not every build revision makes it out for general release.
crschmidt Jun 22nd 2010 7:17AM
Actually, 3.3.4 was nothing. They never named anything 3.3.4; it was just a number they saved for themselves in case they needed it.
d1ckjustice Jun 22nd 2010 6:11AM
3.5.5 should be when Deathwing rattles all of Azeroth and knocks down a few buildings in the capital cities. As long as Elling Trias cheese shop stays standing I'm set for cheese. The zombies couldn't stop the cheese. Please, Deathwing, not the cheese!
Back to the likely patch...
3.3.5 does seem likely today.
Remember: No Ruby Sanctum until the other regions get the patch too.
May as well enjoy Operation: Gnomergan or Operation: Echo Isles for what they are worth.
d1ckjustice Jun 22nd 2010 6:16AM
Zalazane's Fall on the Echo Isles I meant. (Posted before the trolls hopefully...)
Helston Jun 22nd 2010 6:17AM
Interesting that you mention Elling and his cheese, I was doing the Unsent Letter quest (drops of VanCleef and has you going to Stockades) and the chain predicts both the re-opening of the Dark Portal and Deathwing being alive and attacking Stormwind (that one is actually said by Trias himself). Unfortunately there doesn't look to be any other expansion predictions.
d1ckjustice Jun 24th 2010 7:27AM
Bah I wasn't paying attention to the PTR notes closely enough.
No Operation Gnomeregan until 3.9 makes me a sad Panda.
I suppose the Ruby Sanctum, soon, will do. Hehe.
Fletcher Jun 22nd 2010 6:16AM
I levelled a gnome to 80 entirely for the Operation Gnomeregan event. She's ready with tabard, title, banner and Bonechopper. For Gnomeregan!
d1ckjustice Jun 22nd 2010 6:24AM
That's some serious dedication, hehe.
**Possible spoiler alert** I hope the actual event is longer than it was on the PTR. It took a whole 15-30 minutes to complete the PTR events.
***
As for Gnomes, my first Gnome (and Goblin) will be a Priest (and Warlock) in Cataclysm. Add in a Worgen Warrior and I'll have my hands full with heirloomed alts. Until then... waiting for SC2.
Cerein Jun 22nd 2010 6:44AM
patch is indeed live and smaller then I expected only 23.7 megs
Tayla Jun 22nd 2010 7:09AM
Well it's not like a whole lot dropped.
Tayla Jun 22nd 2010 7:10AM
And you guys do realize that Gnomergan/Echo Isles stuff is *NOT* in this patch, right?
>_>;;
Fletcher Jun 22nd 2010 7:35AM
I do now. ;_;
russfriedrichs Jun 22nd 2010 7:17AM
Even though the scrochling isn't available this year at least the new non-combat pet is, I think it is called the frost shardling.
Wolfdog Jun 22nd 2010 7:19AM
Yes, indeed patch 3.3.5 is here. Also this comes with battle.net maintenance. So please be aware you will not be able to access your battle.net info at this time.
Rozom Jun 22nd 2010 9:39AM
Blizz, I love you with all my heart and soul...
But why, why, why, do you always drop a patch in the middle of a holiday?
