@TonyMotorola - True it is still a maintenance day, but I have a feeling that this will be extended downtime. And after the servers come back, there is likely to still be problems (i.e. Addons not working)..
Even then, you would think that Blizz would've waited one more week. I'm sure there are more people playing during a holiday than during an off-holiday week.

The size of the content patch is irrelevant. The new Battle.net features are going to require massive server changes in order to work correctly, so chances of an extended downtime are very high.
