WoW Insider has the latest on the Mists of Pandaria!

Breakfast Topic: Throwing in the towel

My raid guild is a fairly cohesive and dedicated group of screwballs who manage to get together three times a week and kill things in a semi-organized manner. I've been in more and less organized raids, and I've seen a variety of approaches to World of Warcraft and its raiding game. No matter what group I've been in, however, one seemingly eternal issue is patch day.

Frankly, in my experience, expecting to be able to raid on patch day is asking to be disappointed. Sure, it has happened ... I've done it myself! But half the time your mods break, your UI is totally messed up, new features are there to confuse and all that assumes that your server will even be up by raid time. It's an act of purest optimism to even attempt to log on in time for that patch day scheduled raid and the fact that I and 24 others attempt it each patch tells you that we're all lunatics. Which we knew already.

So I ask you: did you try and play yesterday? Did you try and raid, PvP or even log on for some seasonal fun? And did it happen or, like me, did you end up spending a whole lot of time logged onto a server you didn't even have any alts on before calling it quits? Share your patch day stories with us.
