The Queue: Long live the shaman
Welcome back to The Queue, WoW.com's daily Q&A column where the WoW.com team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.
It has officially happened, ladies and gentlemen. World of Warcraft is dead and Transformice has killed it. Who needs gold or epics when I can buy a tophat with cheese? I'll catch ya guys later, I'm rerolling mouse shaman. Anvil God is totally OP.
Wix asked:
"When we make worgen, will we be able to design both the human and the worgen appearances? Or will it be like druids and hair color?"
It's going to be like druids and hair color, or when you get turned into a human in the Caverns of Time. You only choose what you look like as a worgen, and then it will just convert over to what those options would have been if you were designing a human.
Let's say you're rolling a female worgen and you pick Worgen Hair #5 and Worgen Earrings #3. When you use your racial to shift into a human, you will end up with Human Hair #5 and Human Earrings #3. I suspect that someone at some point will create a worgen to human conversion chart for all of the options if you're really worried about what your human will look like.
ccbutch asked:
"Has there been any word on Blizzard's top lists? Did they scrap the idea or has it just been down recently?"
As far as I'm aware, Blizzard hasn't said anything about it. It just stopped working one day. I used to check those lists religiously, so it was a sad day when they ceased to function. Where else can we learn about things such as the Great Death Knight Massacre of 2009?
JayPea asked:
"Do you think Blizz would ever implement a 'bail out' option for people on flying taxis?"
They already did. Level to 60, train flying, then bail off of your flying mount whenever you please!
Bgranger asked:
"Are there any plans by Blizzard to release an iPhone/iPod app to connect to the new Battle.net chat system?"
As far as we know, they are not working on something like this. However, I would love it if they did. The biggest thing I want in the entire game is the ability to talk to my guild from outside of the game. Whether that's a web app, a mobile app or some other way to hook into that communication, I want it and am willing to pay more money than I'd like to admit for the capability.

My friend had a slave account in vanilla wow that stood in darnassus all day. Its only job? To funnel guild chat into an IRC channel and vice verse. It was pretty awesome actually. He stopped using it though.

Yeah my friend used to do that to... annoyinig to keep up all the time.
Kinda off topic but
"It's going to be like druids and hair color, or when you get turned into a human in the Caverns of Time. You only choose what you look like as a worgen, and then it will just convert over to what those options would have been if you were designing a human."
is wrong, it's been confirmed by blizz you can customize both, but in alpha it is currently not possible.

Found the blue post about it here,

This is one reason why Blizzard is probably reluctant to introduce game chat outside of the game itself.
As soon as you allow realtime messages to flow freely into or out of the game client, you set the game up for all sorts of automation from external sources which Blizzard have been trying to avoid.

That blue post is kind of vague, because we don't know what "future release" means. It could mean that it's just not possible in the alpha, but I expect that it means that it won't be available at the release of the expansion.

I love reading the queue, but reallly?!?!
"Do you think Blizz would ever implement a 'bail out' option for people on flying taxis?"
They already did. Level to 60, train flying, then bail off of your flying mount whenever you please!
If you don't want to answer the question, then simply don't answer it.
Alex Ziebart Jun 23rd 2010 1:09PM
It's more fun this way.
Tankizgay Jun 23rd 2010 1:10PM
Agreed, answer a different question if you're going to be like that
Cyanea Jun 23rd 2010 1:11PM
You have to admit, it makes for a more interesting answer than "We don't know."
Narshe Jun 23rd 2010 1:13PM
Stupid question is stupid.
Granddad Jun 23rd 2010 1:13PM
If you log out of the game while in-flight on a taxi, when you log back in you'll land at the next stop on your flight path instead of continuing all the way to your final selected destination.
Emophia Jun 23rd 2010 1:13PM
I thought it was a funny reply.
QQ more.
maely Jun 23rd 2010 1:20PM
C'mon guys, it was funny! Man, it has been all serious business around here lately.
iammurlocftw Jun 23rd 2010 1:27PM
little off topic but i think this is the first time in wow.com history that i've seen a comment from one of the bloggers downrated. usually its all light blue background for them
iammurlocftw Jun 23rd 2010 1:28PM
WTB edit button as soon as i said that it got un downvoted lol
Chevela Jun 23rd 2010 1:31PM
I gotta agree here, even a "Blizzard has never said they would, but I highly doubt it" would have been better here. The question was about the TAXIS, not flying mounts. I'm genuinely interested if this would ever become an option, expecially in Cata where it couldn't be potentially used to get to Areas One Should Not Be, i.e. the unfinished/otherwise unreachable areas of the world.
Can't tell ya how many times I leveled alts who were trying to fly to BFD (before dungeon tool) and wished desperatly i coulda hopped off at the Zoram Strand instead of flying all the way to Astrannar.
Alex Ziebart Jun 23rd 2010 1:32PM
Alright, let me go back and retroactively answer that question and every other available question:
"We don't know."
threesixteen Jun 23rd 2010 1:35PM
@jack spicer. agreed. that's a question i've been curious about for a while now.
the queue is definitely tinged with a sour taste lately. what gives?
Darthregis Jun 23rd 2010 1:47PM
J.Spicer's got a point. It was a legitimate question about the WoW-Taxi system. It's fine to incorporate humour into an answer, but you don't need to be rude about it. There are plenty of comment trolls to do that for you.
We readers know you guys don't know all the answers to what Bliz is doing... but being WoW.com (formerly WoW Insider), you imply that you might have some additional insights the rest of us don't.
If you don't know, that's fine - say you don't. Share some speculations if you have any. If you've heard some rumours, pass them along with whatever disclaimers are required. If you've read some blue posts, pass the info along.

Well, now you're just being a jackass.
