I'd like to say that I had a few problems with DXE when I tried it. It only worked properly on three out of five boss fights. That could just be a bad install though. I like DBM better anyhow so I didn't bother trying to get it working.

I run (customized) versions of both.DBM does some stuff DXE won't (or doesn't quite the way I want it to, more accurately), and DXE does -a lot- of stuff DBM won't.It works well, and everything and then some is covered. I'm pretty sure I'd know when the boss sneezes. All it takes is a few seconds to turn off the worst of the duplication, which I usually do by just killing DBM's bars entirely, except for maybe 1 or 2 I know DXE is lacking in, and letting DBM handle the other warnings (screen flashes etc).

i switched to deus vox for a while. it did a lot of things i liked, but i also had a lot of problems and ended up going back to dbm. mostly i liked deus vox for aesthetic reasons but dbm did a better job of actually warning me.the arrows were a nice touch though!

Which fights didn't it work on? You probably had an old version or a bad install; any time I've had DXE issues, it's been because something else (e.g., my combat log) was broken. In response to the article itself:Saying that DXE has "a little more customization" than DBM is like saying a sportscar goes "a little faster" than a bicycle. On DXE, I can turn on and off alerts for all kinds of encounter events, then customize those alerts, from screen flashes to sounds to /say and arrow displays. I can change the settings on my top (long-term) and bottom (immediate) bars independent of each other. I can build A God-Damned Pony to ride around on.I personally switched to DXE from BW during ToGC, because it was reported to have the most accurate timers for Anub's adds' Shadow Strike (and lo, it was right on the money). Since then, I was at one point forced to use DBM for a while, and I couldn't believe how much functionality I lost. Happiest day of my raiding life was when I convinced that RL to let me start using DXE again.DXE uber alles, I say!
